Set 9 years after the Silver Chair. The Last Battle never happened.

She lay there listening to him under the stars as he told her the story of how Narnia came to be. She liked hearing this story over and over. He told her of how as each different song was sung, different things happened; the first brought to Narnia the sun and the hills, the second brought all the plants and rivers and seas and the third brought forth all the animals. Then she asked to hear again the story of the four Pevensie children who became kings and queens; Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy.

He chuckled but began to retell the story for what would have been the millionth time, but neither really counted. He told her about Lucy finding the lamp post and Mr. Tumnus the faun on her first trip, then of how Edmund came and met the White Witch Jadis. Then how all children came into Narnia and met Mr. Beaver, but then how Edmund snuck off and betrayed them all to the White Witch.

As he told the story, she looked up at the sky and saw the images appear in the stars as if they were telling the story. She cried, she giggled and laughed in the right places and when the story was over she looked back at him. She was about to ask for another story when she heard her mother call to her

"Mirabelle, time for bed", young Mirabelle Pole got up as did her father and they headed back to the castle

"Tomowo night, I hear other storwy, pwease?" she asked her father

"Of course dear one, I'd be happy to tell you" he replied.

After Mirabelle was put to bed, her mother and father took a walk

"What did she want this time?" Queen Jill Pole asked

"To hear the tales of how I brought Narnia to life and the tale of the Pevensie children" replied Aslan, son of the Emperor-over-the-sea and the High King of all kings of Narnia.

They walked in silence until they reached the beach and walked along the water's edge. Mirabelle was Jill's daughter but Jill was left to look after her alone when the father wanted nothing to do with her or the unborn child, but Aslan had come to her rescue and brought them to Narnia to live where they could be at peace. As Mirabelle never knew her father and the fact that Aslan was the only thing closest to a father as a father figure, she called him her father anyway and always would even if she learnt the truth.

Aslan could feel the worry and wonder course through Jill and he knew why, she was wondering what Mirabelle would say and do when she found out her real father never wanted her and whether she would want to go back to England. This also caused Jill to worry because she had a feeling maybe Mirabelle would hate her and want to leave Narnia immediately

"She will not leave you" he told her, Jill looked at him in confusion but then she understood

"Mirabelle may question about her real father when she gets older but she will never leave you, that I am sure of. For you are her mother and she will love you no matter what" he said

"You mean she will never leave us" Jill corrected him and he smiled at

"Yes she will never leave us" he said chuckling as they looked at each other smiling for they would forever remain a family even in death and in Aslan's Country they would remain together forever.
