We see a sleeping Joe leaning against a sleeping Gomamon. Further to the right we see Mimi who is still awake, she looks around at the group. Her gaze shifts into a stare towards Joe. She finally falls asleep.
The camera does a split screen of Mimi, and Joe. The images combine together and a smearing effect is seen. When the screen unsmears we see Joe sitting on a beach. The song "Shimmer" by Fuel plays.
She calls me from the cold, Just when I was low, feeling short of stable.
We see Mimi walk up to Joe, and hug him. Joe hugs her back hesitantly, and then lets go of Mimi. Mimi sits next to a depressed Joe.
(And all that she intends, And all she keeps inside, isn't on the label.)
Joe turns his shift towards Mimi who appears to be happy on the inside, but Joe can see right through her eyes. He knows that she's having trouble with her life with Koushiro, and all that. Mimi looks into his eyes, and then looks down.
( She says she's ashamed, And can she take me for awhile. And can I be a friend, we'll forget the past, But maybe I'm not able. And I break at the bend)
Joe listens to Mimi as she tells him about some events that concern Izzy. Her eyes shift towards Joe pleading for something. Joe gets up, and walks off; Mimi chases after him. When she reaches him, and tries to touch him Joe grabs her wrist, and throws it down. The camera zooms in on his eyes where we see a reminder of his past. In it we see Mimi breaking up with Joe, for she found another guy. The camera zooms out of this scene and we see Joe in the present state shaking. Mimi looks at him concerned, but when Joe waves his hand at her in a gesture for her to leave she takes off. We then see Joe crying.
(We're here and now, but will we ever be again, 'Cause I have found All that shimmers in this world is sure to fade. Away again.)
Joe stares at his reflection in the lake, and a reflection of Mimi is seen. Slowly though the image fades.
(She dreams a champagne dream. Strawberry surprise, pink linen and white paper, Lavender and cream, Fields of butterflies, reality escapes her.)
The camera zooms in on Mimi who is not very far away. She too is looking at her reflection, and tear forms in her eye. The tear drops into the lake, and the camera follows it. A ripply effect is seen, and when the surface is smooth again we see Mimi at a party drinking champagne. She laughs among the many guests there, and is seen eating strawberries, and cream. The walls of the house are a lavender color, and we see pink linen on the table. A few butterflies are seen fluttering about.
(She says that love is for fools who fall behind, And I'm somewhere in between. I never really know, A killer from a savior, 'Til I break at the bend.)
The party scene fades, and we see Mimi walks up to Joe again. She sits down, and puts her head in her hands. She then starts explaining to Joe about her relatinship with Izzy, and how she just can't seem to help him through his depression, and maybey she should break up with him. She then looks at Joe, and tells him that he was the only one of her boyfriends who never really expected much out of her. Joe looks at her in the eyes, and she walks off.
( (chorus) It's too far away for me to hold. It's too far away... Guess I'll let it go.)
Joe watches as Mimi walks off into the forest. He puts his head in his hands, and starts to cry. He then gets up, and walks off. We see the split screen of Mimi, and Joe again. The image shatters, and we see Joe, and Mimi bolt awake.
