I Believe I Can Fly

I Believe I Can Fly

By: Paige Collins

Authors Note: This poem was inspired by going into the Tobias bio thingy in Elfy's page.

I thought that loneliness was just an image,

That I never imagined real,

Now that's here,

I want it to leave,

I spent the depressing nights crying myself to sleep,

But warriors can't cry,

And hawks can't either,

I sometimes imagine life as it used to be,

Just you and I,

You and me,

Fighting wars,

Struggling in a broken image,

A lifeless time,

That was torn,

But the love helped us all through,

Those points in life we want to die,

Like now, as I do,

Helpless, almost lifeless on a bloody battlefield,

As I hear warrior cry after cry,

Death after death,

As so many die,

I feel the world shut away,

Now my time to go has come,

For it is today,

I see the sun,

And a blinding light I fall into in a painful cry,

Now that I go to Heaven,

I Believe I Can Fly.
