Harry Potter's eyes scanned the crowd at King's Cross Station for any sign of his friends. He was on his was on his way to his fifth year at Hogwarts, and his last summer hadn't been too bad. "The summers have been getting progressively better," he noted.
He waved as he spotter Ron and Hermione, his friends from Hogwarts in previous years. As he made his way toward them, though, the crowd pushed him into a wall. He expected impact, but it didn't come.
He looked at his new surroundings. There were no impatient crowds to be seen, and above him hung a sign that announced he was on platform five and a half.
"There is no five and a half," he thought. But then he noticed who was IN platform 5 ½.
He gaped as he recognized his parents. This was only the third time he had seen them, and now he would get a chance to talk to them.
"Mom? Dad?" He asked.
"Yes, son, we are your parents." James told him.
Harry was stunned for a minute. He tried to say something, but then his parents pushed his back towards the entrance.
"You have to go to school now," Lily said.
"School doesn't matter! Professor McGonagall can pick me us some other time!" He protested, but was pushed out of the barrier.
He hurried over to Ron and Hermione, and he immediately told them what happened, as he always did.
"Wow Harry, you discovered a new platform! You will be famous! Well, more famous then you already are," Ron added.
"I don't recall in any of my books it saying there is a platform 5 ½," Hermione said suspiciously.
"That's ok! Harry, when we come back you have to show us this new platform!" Ron said enthusiastically.
"Yeah, ok," Harry said.
"Come on, we are going to miss the train!" Hermione said, and pulled the two boys to platform 9 ¾.

Harry exited platform 9 ¾ after a long fun year of learning at Hogwarts. He was keen on showing his friends the platform, so he immediately walked towards it, heedless of his uncle's commands.
"Right here," Harry said confidently, and walked toward the barrier.
He didn't expect to run smack into a solid concrete barrier, but that was the result of his endeavor.
"It was here last time! I swear! And it looked just like them!" Harry tried to explain.
"Yes, the magical world can be very strange," Ron said knowingly.
Harry said good-bye to his friends and went over to his uncle, still pondering.
