Tribute
They could not know the changes that would be;
The hopes of some to tread among the stars,
The words that said that all men must be free,
And all worlds need not be the same as ours.
The ones who had this vision from the first;
The ones who took it up and made it real;
Who dared to dream the best despite the worst -
That this was what the future must reveal.
They built it with their minds and with their hearts,
Though some said it was useless pantomime.
Believers in the ship fulfilled their parts,
And she became a legend out of time.
Since first she was a dream to light men's eyes -
