They opened the closet door, frightened out of their wits. Margot came out, but she was gone, her whole life drained from her. The children stood around her in a circle. Margot had had enough. She didn't even want the sun anymore, she just wanted to... Forget it! She punched William in the face and he fell to the floor with tears running down his face. All of the children backed off in fear. The teacher came in a hurry and Margot immediately kicked her in the stomach, causing her to fall back onto the ground, unable to get up because of her dress.
"WHERE WERE YOU," Margot finally screamed, "YOU DIDN'T CARE! YOU SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER! YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE A ROLL CALL BUT YOU DIDN'T! YOU'RE JUST A PATHETIC EXCUSE FOR A TEACHER!" Her voice had risen with every word until she was screaming at the top of her lungs. Everyone backed off, frightened at what Margot had now become.
She turned to her classmates. They were staring at her with shame, guilt and immeasurable fear. Margot was filled with intense, fierce rage and frustration. She'd never had these feelings before. She turned on William again and grabbed him, throwing him against the door or the closet, then picking him up again and slamming him twice into it. Hard. The little boy screamed in pain.
"YOU TOOK THE SUN AWAY FROM ME," Margot roared at William, "AND YOU TOOK EVERYTHING! WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING!?"
William shuddered and started begging and pleading with Margot to stop, "Please! It was only meant to be a joke! I didn't mean for all this to happen, I..."
"YOU'RE A LIAR," Margot yelled back, tears appearing in her eyes, "YOU WERE THE LIAR! YOU WERE THE ONE WHO..." Margot's voice trailed off in frustration and she slammed William into the door again. She then threw him into a little girl, in total rage that ever since she had arrived in Venus, nothing was going her way. She started attacking the other students until they all ran off. Except for William, who was crying so much you'd think his whole family, extended family and friends had all been brutally murdered in cold blood and he had been brutally tortured. William did not dare to take his eyes off the ground.
"Margot..." he whispered, "Please forgive..."
But Margot walked out of the door into the outside world, but not before kicking William in the ribs one last time while screaming "YOU CAN GET STUFFED!"

Margot ran into the rain, running and running and running as fast as her legs could carry her. Sooner or later, Margot started to notice that the sound of the rain was getting more and more quiet. But she just kept running until she could run no more. She fell onto her hands and knees, panting hard. She looked up and saw the sun, shining brilliantly down upon her. It was unbelievable, even though it was true.
"The sun..."
Margot finally got to see the sun, and it was to beautiful. It made her forget her anger, her worries, her frustration and she was restored. The blue returned to her eyes, the red to her mouth, the yellow to her hair and her skin was no longer all whitened. She was restored and it was though she had never been to Venus. Margot spent the next few hours playing in the sun and chasing after it when it started to go away. However, the time came when search parties found her and took her back into the rain. She was smiling as they led her away.

At the police station, they were determined to charge Margot with assault. But they let it slide.
"Well Margot actually got to see the sun..." William's dad sighed, "But it was too late. These scars are permanent. And there's no way pressing charges will ever make it help..."

From then on, nobody was allowed to miss out on any rare event or excursion, lest they be permanently scarred by such a loss.
