It has been six months since Elizabeth told Peter she was pregnant. Everyone was happy for the two soon to be parents, especially Neal who already christened himself uncle of the lucky kid. Peter was thrilled about the baby, but of course was a little wary of the idea of 'Uncle Neal.'
One lovely Monday morning at the FBI offices in New York, Neal Caffery was in good mood, especially since he got a fedora hat which he loved, but his mood was turned sour by the amount of paper work on Pete's desk. Ugh mortgage fraud papers. Neal thought. Just then Peter walked in, looking beat.
"Hey Peter what's up?" Neal said sitting down.
"You know the usual, trying to deal with El and her hormones, and trying to get the baby's room done." He replied to the ex con man, taking a sip of his coffee.
"Have you two decided on names yet?" Neal was curious and also just trying to put off that paperwork as long as he could.
"Not yet, but we sort of like the idea of Madison or Sydney if it's a girl, with the middle name Lee like Elizabeth's middle name." The Burke's decided they were going to until the baby was born to know the gender, let it be a surprise. Neal however knew the gender of the baby, by using his charm on one of the nurses.
"What if it's a boy?" Neal asked.
"We don't know yet. El really wants a girl so she's been focused on the girl's name."
"Maybe you could name the boy Neal." The con man grinned.
"Maybe over my dead body, Caffery. The last thing my kid needs is a name like Neal." Peter laughed.
"Hey! What's wrong with my name, Neal means champion or passionate. I think it is a great name. Anyways maybe you should name you're boy Matthew. " He said.
"Matthew isn't a half bad name. Matthew Burke or Matt." Peter loved it he couldn't wait to suggest it to her. Then Peter noticed the paper work. Ugh stupid mortgage fraud
Neal could tell Peter loved the name, he tried to hide it, but Neal could tell. Secretly, Neal looked at the different meanings of different boy names for hours and then he found the name Matthew.
3 months later……
"Here's your baby boy, Mr. and Mrs. Burke." The nurse gave the little new born to Elizabeth. They were so happy, Peter had the biggest grin on his face.
"What are you going to name him?" One blonde nurse asked.
"Matthew Wade Burke." Peter and El said at the same time with a smile. They both loved the name and thanked Neal for suggesting it.
"Oh that's a beautiful name, did you know Matthew means gift from God? Oh what am I thinking you two probably knew that already." She smiled warmly. Neal went to greet the new parents and asked if he could hold the baby, of course the answer was yes, well at least from Elizabeth the answer was yes.
"Hey kiddo, I'm your uncle Neal. You and I are going to have lots of fun." Neal smiled and little Matt returned it with a little smile of his own.
A/N:Not my best but I'm on an updating frenzy and I thought what the heck so please review. I know the actress who plays Elizabeth is pregnant so I hope they have her and Peter has a kid in show. So yeah please review I wrote this at 3 am
