Maya was walking around the X-Scaper, reading a romance novel. She really wasn't watching where she was going because the next thing she knew was that she was sitting flat on her butt right across from Ky. Maya just blushed.

"Jeez, Maya. I knew you were into that book but not so into it that you'd run into me." Ky said jokingly.

"Sorry, Ky. I guess I've been so caught up with this book that I forgot to remember to watch where I've been going." Maya said, getting up and wiping dust off of her pants. Ky stood up also and picked up her book.

"I'll say. Here's your... um... Ma? Why are reading a romance novel?" Ky said, reading the name of Maya's book, which was The Notebook.

"Um... no reason. I just watched the movie a couple of days ago and told Master B that I wanted the book. So he got it for me. He's such a cool kinda-sorta grandfather." Maya said, taking the book from Ky.

"Oh cool. What's it about?"

"Oh! Um... it's about two people in love. It's narrated by an 80 year old man to his wife. He tells her about their life together when they both were younger. It's set in the 1940's and in the present. I love Nicholas Sparks. He writes such good novels like The Last Song and A Walk to Remember. It's set in North Carolina. All of his books are."

"Hmm... sounds good. Could you read it to me? You don't look very far in it. I just want to listen to it. I don't want to read it but I'd like to listen to it."

"It's because I'm not. And yeah. I can read some to you. Let's go sit in my favorite place. And if you just want to listen to it, buy an audio tape of it." Maya said walking past Ky to go sit on the rock she usually sat on.

Once they got there, Maya opened the book to the first chapter and began reading.

"The Notebook. Chapter One: Miracles. Who am I? And how, I wonder, will this story end? The sun has come up and I am sitting by a window that is foggy with the breath of a life gone by..." Maya continued to read until she heard a soft snore. She looked over at Ky who was lying flat on his back fast asleep. Maya smiled. "You are, and always have been, my dream. Ky, I love you. You will always be my dream." Maya stayed there until Ky woke up. When he did, all he said was,

"I love you too, Maya." Maya blushed hard.

"Oh, you heard that? I... um..."

"Thought I was asleep? Yeah. I know."

"Oh." Maya said. She opened her mouth to say more but Ky put his hand on the back of her head and kissed her. Maya at first was shocked but slowly eased up. Unbeknownst to the kissing couple was a single woman, Iris. All she did was watch and smile. 'My little Maya has found true love.' she thought. Maya was happier than Iris ever was with Lokar. Iris knew this and went home. Maya knew that woman somehow but couldn't put her finger on it. Another mystery for another day. The end. 3
