N blinked at a huffy looking Oki, finally ascending the steps to his castle. Her face was contorted in annoyance as she glared at him, something not normally seen from the female he had come to know. In fact, she was a rather calm and collected young woman. He'd never seen her angry when he'd run into her – but she'd always question his logic.
In her hand, he took note of the white stone he'd informed her to search for. Telling her he would only give her three days to do so. Three days after they had spoken to each other for the last time; when she inquired if this was his motive – if he felt like he was abusing his power, like so many others who would abuse a weapon or a Pokemon.
Of course, that had been a total of five days ago – two more then what he had forced an agreement upon. As he opened his mouth to scold her for being so late, she beat him to it – suddenly seeming to be very angry.
"You are a major douche!" She shouted, clear annoyance in her tone. "Do you know how long it took me to find this damn stone! And under the time you set! You're like my teacher, dammit! Giving the class a day to study for a stupid test that totaled half our grade! I had to cheat my way through that class N! I do not enjoy being put on a limit like this!"
She suddenly raised her right arm, the stone in hand, and chucked it at him. It bounced off his chest. He barely reacted fast enough to catch it, jumbling the delicate sleeping dragon from one hand to the other before it steadied itself in his palm. He blinked at the female, wide eyed unused to this kind of behavior.
"And you can have your stupid dragon stone thing! I'm not battling you!"
She panted, pausing to catch her breath in her fit of anger. Staring at him as if she were waiting for him to speak, she continued;
"Say something!"
Instead, despite his best wishes, his surprised expression slowly became a smile; then a grin. Before she knew it, he was laughing. Laughing at her anger and annoyance that he'd never witnessed. This only seemed to further her annoyance.
"Stop laughing! This is serious!"
Despite herself, her anger slowly ebbed away and she began to chuckle herself before her own laughter joined his. It was a natural moment – for the two of them not to worry about their constant battling or arguing logic. He acted like a normal person with a normal friend – sharing laughter and joy.
But the laughter soon came to a stop and the two were left in an awkward silence once again. N looked at the stone in his hand. He wanted to offer it back to her – she was the hero after all; at least, in his mind, she was playing the part. But she'd also made it clear that she wouldn't battle him. Was that her truth? He wasn't sure.
Oki sighed, staring at the male through her thick framed lenses. He lifted his head, her green hues meeting his brown ones.
"Is this really what you want N?" She finally question. "I mean really, truly, what you want?"
N lowered his head again. To her question; to his friend;
He wasn't even sure himself.
