Warm and fluffy. Enjoy.
The last thing he remembered was looking into her face. Those brown orbs looking into his with worry at first and then relief. Who was she?
Will looked around the small room he was in. He was alone but warm under his blanket. Warm and safe. Who would have thought that the one ship in the entire Atlantic Ocean that he was on would be the one to be attacked?
Suddenly, he heard light footsteps coming in his direction. He quickly pretended to be asleep as whoever it was pulled up a chair and took his hand. He opened his eyes and there she was.
"Feeling better?" she asked.
Struck mute for a moment, Will slowly nodded.
"Well that's good," she said tucking a stray lock of hair behind her ear. "My name's Elizabeth, remember?" she added biting her lip.
"Yes, and I'm Will," he said sitting up.
Elizabeth suddenly giggled causing Will to raise an eyebrow.
"It's nothing," she said.
"Obviously it is though," he said slightly concerned.
"Such a way with words," she said with an easy grin as she fixed her skirts and crossed her ankles together.
The two smiled at each other until the ship suddenly lurched causing them to crash foreheads together and fall to the floor.
"I'm so sorry Will." "Let me help you up." They both spoke at the same time and took hold of each other's hands.
Will helped her to her feet and she fixed her outfit.
"Thank you," she whispered looking down at her shoes and blushing.
"It's nothing," Will said looking at a spot over her head, blushing as well.
They silently tried not to look at each other for a few more minutes and they were also still holding hands.
Elizabeth suddenly broke away and ran up onto the deck where the men were still working hard to get a handle on the situation.
Will appeared moments later and watched them do their duty. He quickly found Elizabeth by the railing looking out at the ocean almost as though she were searching for something or someone.
"The water is beautiful, isn't it," he said startling her.
"Will, don't do that."
He chuckled and smiled again. Elizabeth smiled back as they looked out at sea.
"At least you're safe," she said.
"Yeah, for now anyway."
"Well you, Will Turner, are coming to Port Royal with us," she said pointing to his chest.
"Is that where we're headed?"
"It is."
"Fine with me."
The fog began to lift then and the smoke from the sinking vessel slowly cleared away. The sun peaked out from the clouds and a ray seemed to land right on the two of them.
"Well isn't that something," he said quietly.
"Exactly; the sun will always shine when you need it to most."
Will looked at her curiously but she didn't elaborate. She took his hand into hers and the two stood there for the rest of the morning.
"Will?"
"Yes Elizabeth?" he said turning to look her in the eye.
"When we get to Port Royal, can you promise me something?"
"Alright..."
"Promise me that we can be friends. I'd like to know someone when we get there."
Slowly Will smiled. "I'll be your friend Elizabeth; don't worry."
She smiled back and looked to the sky.
Looking at her, bathed in the sunlight, Will would always remember this as the moment Elizabeth Swann stole his heart and never gave it back.
