Chloe Bourgeois. The ever elegant beautiful only daughter of the mayor of Paris. The Repunzel-esque beauty and long time friend of the famous Adrien Agreste. Powerful. Graceful. Beautiful.
All ways to describe her. It was how she made herself appear to the world.
She could not be weak. Her weakness could only bring trouble. Even if there were few individuals who didn't like her methods, none could argue over how effective they were.
No one dared challenge her in class and succeed. Not even her dear sweet Adrien.
To all the common folk, her life seemed perfect.
But away from all the people of Paris, there was still the sad truth.
She shouldn't be alive.
Not that anyone really knew that. Her daddy had done all he could to keep the press from releasing the information.
He didn't want anyone to know someone was targeting his family.
He didn't want anyone to know that because someone was targeting his family, another little girl got hurt.
He didn't want anyone to know that the little girl would never fully recover.
He didn't want anyone to know about Marinette Dupain-Cheng.
But Chloe knew, and she visited her everyday.
Within a popular bakery were Tom Dupain and Sabine Cheng, who would always greet Chloe, and allow her to climb to the tower like loft that was Marinette's bedroom. She would enter and greet the girl with a soft hug far from how she greeted anyone else. Marinette would grab her arm tenderly, and turn to face Chloe, almost forgetting her own appearance. One eye always covered by a red bandana to hide her injury. To hide where she had been accidentally shot by a man aiming for Chloe.
"Chloe," she'd greet in a tired voice, her hand often holding a pencil with a pad of paper in her lap.
"Hey Mari, did you sleep well last night?"
"Mm." Up all night and not willing to answer. Instead, she'd hand Chloe a picture. Usually, it was some article of clothing she would see out of her window. Other times it was her own design.
So Chloe was a bit surprised to see Paris's two heroes on her pad. Chat Noir and Queen Bee. One responsible for destroying Akumatized objects, the other responsible for holding onto them until they found a way to get rid of them once and for all. If only Mari could really know.
But her injury kept her from realizing the truth. Her companion, her friend, the girl she saved was the hero she drew. A hero so well adored, and yet, couldn't fix the one person who broke for her.
AU possibility.
What if Chloe and Marinette knew each other when they were younger. Not friends but, not enemies either. What is Marinette saved Chloe from something terrible? Then what?
I guess my dieseased brain will never know.
This story or just the concept is perfectly well adoptable.
