Seishun Kyousoukyoku

DISCLAIMER: I don't own Naruto, or the Japanese lyrics I've included here – it's one of the Naruto themes, though I don't know which. The title is the title of the theme. I have always thought that the animation for this theme is irrepressibly SasuNaru, so here we have it – a SasuNaru fic! Probably going to end up being three chapters. It's set somewhere in Episode 108 (the episode which concludes the fight between Sasuke and Naruto), and so some of the dialogue is taken directly from this episode, ergo I don't own this dialogue enjoy! PS – Harry Potter 7 tonight!!!!!!

Naruto knelt by the pierced water tower, panting from the exertion of his match with Sasuke. His main focus was on the sweat running down his forehead and the blood pounding in his ears, but above the roaring he could dimly hear the conversation that was taking place between Kakashi-sensei and the perverted hermit. Snatches of phrases caught in his mind and remained, tangled there by his confusion and troubled thoughts.

"Unless there is something much deeper between them."

"The current Naruto doesn't want recognition from me or you, but from Sasuke."

They didn't know what they were saying, not really, but…

He watched Kakashi-sensei speaking softly to Sakura-chan for a few seconds, and then the man disappeared.

He's probably gone to find Sasuke. The thought brought back some of the jealousy he had felt when Kakashi-sensei had first begun to focus on Sasuke's training, and had tried to make him train with that closet pervert, but he pushed it away. He knew he had to find Sasuke himself, after Kakashi-sensei had finished talking to him. After seeing the look in his friend's eyes when he had challenged him a few minutes ago, he knew he had to talk to him before things got any worse.

He dropped to the hospital roof and slowly walked up behind Sakura-chan, who was standing looking after Kakashi-sensei. She turned to him. "Naruto…"

"Sakura-chan…" He kept his eyes on the ground. "Don't interfere."

He knew she was about to cry, and he didn't want to see it. He tensed and pushed off from his feet, springing up onto the high surrounding fence. Whether Kakashi-sensei had finished with Sasuke or not, he was going to find him.

He passed the perverted hermit on the way there. For once he did not exchange a greeting or an insult with him, but carried on walking. He deliberately ignored his teacher, knowing what he would say, and knowing that he was right, despite not wanting to agree with him.

Huh. Perverted hermit.
