Here he was, blowing around the countryside, keeping watch over what little lands his small tribe had left, thinking about her again. Koga knew Kagome was the one for him. She was loyal, spirited, strong and attractive. He wouldn't hold her being human against her, but if she were a demon it would make claiming her so much easier.
It was a very complicate situation and Koga didn't understand the dilemma. For him it was very simple. He was an ookami prince, strong, and his tribe had lands. He didn't consider himself hard to look at, he knew how to woo a female, he treated Kagome with respect every time he saw her, and it had to be obvious to her he was strong and could provide for her, considering he helped provide for the two remaining members of his tribe, Hakaku and Ginta. For any other female he would be a prize catch. Hell, just take a look at Ayame! He couldn't shake her no matter how hard he tried and he had done nothing but push her away.
Koga simply did not understand why Kagome stayed with Inuyasha. The monk treated her better! Kagome provided for him, fought by his side in battle and treated him like a mate. In return Inuyasha was mean to her, argued with her constantly, treated her with disrespect and shunned her. Yet he tried to act like she was his intended when Koga came around. In his mind, Kagome should be falling over herself to run to him and be his mate.
Kagome had effectively managed to stay with her group and not join Koga and his tribe. He was forced to watch from the sidelines while she fought and took care of that dog. The longer she made him wait the more determined he became to win her. She deserved so much better. She deserved him.
