Okay, okay can you guys go a few years back, like 2013 (that was a year I like to forget) to a certain band's album (aka Fall Out Boy). Okay go back to the song "The Phoenix" cuz that's the song in the story. It's going to be pretty short, cuz I haven't written fics in two years, so at least I'm doing it, yay
I'm really into Fall Out Boy now, that's all you need to know
Marco flopped ungracefully on the couch and pulled out his phone, looking through for some music. He was in the mood for rock music, something totally heavy metal, in accordance to his bad boy persona. None of them were feeling hardcore enough, though. He nodded as he finally found one for his mood.
Put on your war paint.
Meanwhile, upstairs Star tapped her feet to the music and gasped.
"Hey, I know this song! Marco plays this all the time." Grinning, she danced along and followed the music downstairs.
She shimmied along the hallway as she followed the sound. It was obviously coming from downstairs, and she could hear Marco singing faintly to it, it was so cute. She stopped and leaned over the barrister.
He was holding the phone in one hand high in the air and fist pumping the air with the other. He was still quietly mumbling the words. He was closing his eyes and nodding to the music, really getting into it. Aww!
He was singing a little louder, now that he was at the pre-chorus. She could even hear him.
"So we can take the world back from the heart attacked."
Star grinned. This was her favorite part of the song. She softly sang, "One maniac at a time, we will take it back."
Star giggled as Marco jumped on the couch and belted out the next line.
"You know time crawls on when you're waiting for the song to start so dance along to the beat of your heart!"
Star stopped giggling.
Wow. Just . . . wow. Star felt her grin reappear on her face.
"Hey young blood, doesn't it feel like our time is running out? I'm going to change you, like a remix—"
"—Then I'll raise you, like a phoenix!"
Marco squealed and tumbled off the couch. "Wha- Star!"
Not missing a beat, Star slid down the barrister, singing, "Wearing our vintage misery, no, I think it looked a little better on me!" She landed gracefully on the ground."I'm going to change you, like a remix, then I'll raise you—"
Marco stopped the music, using that as an excuse use the phone to hide his blush. "Star!"
"—like a phoenix." Star finished, pouting.
Sighing, Marco turned off his phone and tossed it on the couch. "I'm guessing you saw everything, right?"
"Most of it!" said Star, unceremoniously jumping on the couch and grabbing Marco's phone. "You have an amazing voice, Marco!"
"Hey, thanks," said Marco, scratching the back of his head.
"Hey, you have their new album! Wanna have a Fall Out Boy session?"
"Sure, why not?"
Okay, it's not canon that Marco can sing, but it's not canon that he can't so yep.
What are those things I used to add at the end of fics?
Constructive criticism is helpful! Rate and review! No flames!
Yep. I like to think I became cooler in those two years.
