This is how it could have ended...Gemshipping...this is just to kill an annoying plot bunny that I had to get out of my head...

Akefia let out a laugh. The Pharaoh and his priests lay unable to move on the floor of the underground temple in Kul Elna. He wouldn't even need to summon Zork. It was over.

"Go, Diabound! Finish them! Rasenhadou!" The purple beam surged towards them, the spirits lending him endless power. The Pharaoh was dead.

Yami lay on the floor, unable to do a thing as the purple beam went towards him...he couldn't even shake in fear.

The beam hit something, and Akefia look of joy turned to one of confusion, then anger.

"Who dares stop me?" The light cleared...to show a beautiful woman with one white wing and one black wing. He recognised it. Change of Heart.

"Ironic, isn't it. The one person you always overlooked...is the one person who will defeat you." A teenager made his presence known. The priests gasped at his appearance. He looked like a younger, paler version of the thief, yet his clothes were strange.

"Ryou..." The Pharaoh said disbelievingly, slowly getting to his feet. Ryou nodded.

"How dare you defy me, Yadonoshi! I am in control, and you can't stop me!" Ryou smirked uncharacteristically.

"That's where you're wrong. I can, because Change of Heart is a spell card, and thus can't be harmed by Diabound. Go, Change of Heart!" The angel/demon rose into the air, and let of two waves, one black one white.

"If you can think you change my heart, you have another thing coming!"

"Who said I was aiming for you?"

"What?" The thief's expression was incredulous as the spirits who had been supporting him fled towards Change of Heart, who smiled and greeted them like they were her children. "No! Come back to me!"

"It's over! Change of Heart, drive Zork away!" Change of Heart now dove at Akefia, who screamed as the woman entered his body, and something black snaked out of him and vanished, before he collapsed on the ground, unconscious. "You can leave now. He was possessed by Zork, and he won't be able to remember any of this. I can handle it from here."

"Right, I'll trust your judgement on this, Ryou." The Pharaoh nodded to Ryou, before leaving, his priests filing out behind him.

In the Shadow Realm, Zork cried out in despair! When he had been driven from Akefia's body, he had lost all hold he had had on that world. He had been defeated, and without even the Pharaoh's name being revealed. Damn that boy. Damn him to hell!

Ryou waited until all the priests were gone before hurrying to Akefia's side as the taller man moaned.

"Akefia?"

"Who...who are you...angel..." Ryou smiled, and leaned down to kiss him.
