My eyes snapped open after a long cold night. My eyes were heavy and the first thing I wanted was fresh kill. " Dawnstone ". I heard a familiar voice call my name. I quickly padded out of the warriors den to find the curious caller. My eyes scanned the camp then I spotted my mate, Talonclaw. " Hi " I said flashing him the biggest smile. Talonclaw smiled brightly back but had a nervous look on his face. " Hi Dawnstone" He Replied. " I need to talk to you. Please walk with me into the woods". " Okay " I replied curious to see what he would like to talk to me about. As we were walking through the woods all the scents of the fresh damp ground and the dewy plants smelled refreshing like rain. I could tell that none of these smells or me, could calm Talonclaw. He led me to a spot under the Great Wisdom Tree, and turned back to look at me. "Dawnstone" He said in a nervous tone. " I want you to come on a great journey with me". I was shocked, that Talonclaw would ask me to go with him. I thought his mission was a solo one, and it was extremely important. Talonclaw had already told me and explained it to me, so why was he changing his mind. I wanted to go because I love him, but my clan needed me here on camp. As I sat in front of him I thought, If I could take his offer I could be in great danger and be missing out on the growth of my family. But If I could have the guts to decline, and possible break his heart I think I would be the bad guy. He may never talk to me or even look at me and I could wreck our whole life's relationship. "Talonclaw". I mumbled. " Of course I will go with you! You are my whole life, and even though I may be needed back here in the camp I will not miss an opportunity to go with you." I saw Talonclaw's face brighten and it made me smile. Well it looks like I am going on the most dangerous trip of my life. I hope my clan understands that if I don't come back, im gone forever. " Thank You Dawnstone" Talonclaw nuzzled me. " You don't know how much this means to me". I playfully nudged him and we both burst into laughter looking pretty funny. " Well I guess I have to go back to the camp and explain in to all of our family" I said scared to break my brothers heart. " Don't Worry". Talonclaw told me, "Our clan and your family will be fine , even your brother. He is a strong warrior and he would understand". I nodded feeling a bit better, but still a little scared. We padded back to camp through the thick forest, and arrived in the camp with Frostkit tackling Talonclaw. I laughed smiling and pawing at Talonclaw. " This one sure loves you" I told him feeling warmth all throughout me. I'm going to miss this, I thought almost tearing up. The Great Journey begins now.
