Disclaimer: I don't own anything related to Power Rangers. They belong to Saban, thank goodness.
A Tradition Is Born
It felt weird. No, it just felt odd. It wasn't the first time he had felt like this, but this time there was no going back. No, calling him in as the one to save the day. No more being a Power Ranger for Tommy Oliver.
Sitting on the blanket near the Lake in the center of the Park, he looked out over the water. Not even a week ago, he had handed his powers over to a new Red Turbo Ranger. Glancing to his side, he could see T.J. talking to Jason. Tommy couldn't help but wonder how the new Red Ranger was dealing with facing the First.
Hearing feet on grass, Tommy turned to look behind him and watched as Kimberly came over and sat beside him.
"How are you holding up?" She glanced over at T.J.
Smiling, Tommy wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "Good, better now that you're here."
Kim smiled back at him. "Ha, ha very funny. I'm serious."
Tommy sighed. "I'm fine. I've done it before. I'm more worried about the others."
Nodding, she glanced over at the other former Turbo Rangers, who were either talking to other former Rangers or to the new ones. "They'll get through it. Although, they won't stop waiting for the call when trouble strikes. I still do that, and it's been almost a year."
Justin came walking up. "Ugh, Tommy, can I sit with you guys?"
Tommy smiled at him, lowering his arm from around Kim. "Sure, your dad couldn't make it?"
Justin smiled as he sat beside Tommy. "Yeah, I caught a ride with Adam. So what exactly is this any way?"
Kim smiled at the youngest Ranger. "Something I came up with last minute. Since, most of the first are leaving town, it made since to do a little reunion."
Justin nodded. "It might not be a bad idea to do this every year."
Tommy laughed. "That's not a bad idea, Justin."
Justin smiled. "Well, I am a genius remember."
Kim laughed. "I still wished you could have met Billy. I think you two would be great friends."
"Everyone's said that. I wish I could."
Tommy sighed. "Maybe one day."
Suddenly, a fire work went up into the sky.
"The fireworks are starting!"
Kim moved closer to Tommy as the show really got started. "You know it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a reunion every year."
Tommy smiled. "If you want it, then we'll see next year."
"I'll hold you to that."
The Rangers of the past watch the show, with the Rangers of the present. Thus beginning a new tradition for many years to come.
So this just popped in my head, like my last Power Rangers one-shot. Something nice and sweet for the holiday. Hope you liked it.
Review if you please.
Thanks for the reviews to come.
Happy Fourth of July!
Hope you all stay safe.
Love,
CL
