My Demise

It came to me one day while I was playing the game, so I typed it up and submitted it! My first Kingdom Hearts fanfic! Tell me what you think! It's a one shot, but things may change... Enjoy!

Her lungs burned as she panted for breath. Running footfalls reverberated loudly off the buildings.
'Why isn't anybody here? Where did they go!'
She didn't want to know the answer. She could still hear them following her. Turning her head back from whence she came; she saw their sickly yellow, glowing eyes.
'What the hell ARE those things!'
The gashes down her back from where the creatures had attacked her burned feverishly. Her dress, a halter with a flowing skirt that went halfway down her thighs, was now decorated with blood and dirt. She coughed again, throat dry and raspy, as she ran toward what looked like a way of escape. To her horror and disappointment, they were there too.
There were two kinds, some clad in armor, and some just made of shadow. 'What ARE they!' she thought furiously, a terrified scream escaping her lips as she avoided a particularly nasty assault by an armored creature.
Running back up the subway stairs the street, she looked around for a way to escape, her dark brown hair dancing wildly in the wind. She heard the screams of the creatures' victims, but she couldn't see who made them.
Fighting against the creatures had only rewarded her with wounds: three parallel gashes across her back and two down her left arm. They were deep and stung, as if someone had poured salt into them.
The young woman ran down the empty street of the city. The moon was glowing with its silent light, basking everything in an eerie glow. It had been such a beautiful night.
'Why are they HERE?'
There were no clouds in the sky, just stars, which were only visible tonight because the power had failed. Cars were wrecked and shops destroyed. The once proud city stood in ruin, yellow eyed creatures swarming and destroying everything. The young woman let out a cry as she fell, her hands and knees burned from trying to prevent injury. Her heart beat furiously against her rib cage, as if trying to break free. She could hear the creatures catching up to her. "GET AWAY!" she screamed, her voice hoarse.
As she struggled to get up, tears now falling from her face in desperation, she experienced something she never did before. The whole world went black, though she could still see. The creatures disappeared. She looked down at her hands. They were visible, along with the rest of her body. She looked around and seeing nothing only made her more nervous. 'What's going on?' The thought floated through her mind. Suddenly, she was tired. Extreme fatigue she only knew to be associated with school swept through her. Unable to stand any longer, she let her body fall, and it continued to for what seemed an eternity.

Ok, I was playing the game today, (one month after typing this, I wasn't sure if I would submit it or not... lol) and I found my inspiration for chapter two. If you guys are interested in seeing another chapter, please review and say so!
