Narcissa Malfoy Frightens Ginny Weasley
The little red headed girl bobbed down the street. One hand in her mother's, the other holding tightly to her lollypop. She was in high spirits because it wasn't often her mother let her pick out a treat when they went shopping. Even her brother Ron couldn't disturb her good mood today, though heavens know he tried. In fact, she was pretty sure nothing could ruin this day for her.
As she skipped along next to her mother she pointed out people she knew and shops she liked to visit. There was Neville and his grandmum. Over there was Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlor and Mr. Fortesue himself wiping tables. And look! There was Luna. Ginny liked Luna. She was odd, but always nice. And…hmm…who was that? His hair was the same color as Luna's. He looked like he was Ron's age. He was holding his mum's hand.
Little Ginny Weasley looked up at the boy's mum. The boy's mum scared her. Mum's weren't supposed to be scary. Her mum yelled at Fred and George sometimes but she never looked that scary. Ginny didn't know why she was so frightened of the boy's mum.
"Oh look," Ginny's mum said with the same kind of voice she used when she talked about the naughty things Ginny's brothers did. "There's Narcissa and Draco Malfoy. How lovely. Ginny, dear, don't look their way. I don't want to talk to her."
Ginny nodded at her mum and looked away. Then she looked back. Yes, the boys mum, Narcissa her mummy had called her, frightened her. Even at a young age there was something about Narcissa Malfoy that frightened Ginny Weasley.
