"A DEFINITION NOT FOUND
IN THE DICTIONARY
Not leaving: an act of trust and love,
often deciphered by children"
― Markus Zusak
How can the world be so cruel?
It took her mother and her father too.
She cried and cried for days,
Was she going to die soon?
Her best friend lit a fire inside her,
One filled with love and so much more.
The fire soon burned out,
And took a life,
His own life.
An angel has fallen!
Oh, how can the world be so cruel?
It took her mother, her father and her lover too!
She broke,
Only a shell of the mage before.
But then she found a part him alive.
Half of him,
And half of her.
A baby girl with the deepest of onyx eyes,
Beautiful pink hair with gold tips,
And smile to brighten up her mother's cruel world.
A darling boy with his mommy's cheerful eyes,
Orange flames for a spikey mane,
And laugh full of sweetness to chase her darkness away.
But still cannot forget him,
Nor will she want to,
Every story she told them was of their lives,
Of their family,
Of their friends,
Their journey of how they became what they are.
Of his heroic death,
Of his undying love,
Of their undying love,
But when the time comes, she too,
Would have to go,
As a fallen angel.
"A baby is God's opinion that the world should go on."
― Carl Sandburg
