Chapter 1: I'm Coming Home

Man, am I tired. Another day, another case closed. It seems everything is coming together. The legal system has been restored, more attorneys are coming into the country, and for the first time ever, I actually don't feel totally exhausted. These past two years have been the hardest of my life, but it seems all worth it in the end. Everything came together Dhurke. I hope you're proud of me.

"Apollo! That was awesome!" I turn my head and I see Kris. She recently joined the office a month ago. She had connections with Datz and was also part of the revolution. "Well, another day, another case. Wasn't that much of a big deal." Kris pouted. "Oh, come on! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time!" You've said that about ALL of my cases. I can see why Datz said you never got out much.

My name is Apollo Justice. I'm a defense attorney. I've been in the Kingdom of Khura'in for two years, rebuilding and establishing the legal system here. I established a successful law office here and managed to stay on my two feet, much to my doubt. All that aside, Khura'in's legal system is stable, renewed, and revived.

"Hey AJ!" shouted Datz. Speak of the devil…" "What is it, Datz? I just got back." Datz had a concerned look on his face. "Look, I know you're working hard and all, but it's been two full years since you ever took a break." I looked at him like he had four heads. "And…? What's your point?" Datz immediately face-palmed. "Don't you wanna go back home? To the states? Last time I checked, you haven't really checked in with your old pals." …He's right. It's been months since I wrote to the Agency. Last I heard Trucy was making it on her own, and Athena took her first case on her own. I've been so busy here in Khura'in that I almost forgot where I started. Forgot about how I even got here. Datz noticed my depressed look plastered on my face.

"Hey…if you wanna go back home, go right ahead." I looked up and was about to rebut, but Datz cut me off. "And before you say you're going to be worried about the office, don't. We can take care of ourselves." Kris' expression changed, like she didn't like the idea. "Apollo, who's all in the United States? I thought all of your friends were here." Oh yeah, she doesn't know about my start in the States.

"I haven't told you about that, haven't you? I actually lived in the United States longer than I have here in Khura'in." Kris was furious. "WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?!" Uh oh. Kris is getting mad. This was what I was worried about! "Alright, alright, settle down, Kris. He was so busy trying to keep things stable here, he didn't have the time to," Datz said defensively. I turned to Kris and I started to tell her about my life across the ocean. Then, all of a sudden, it hit me.

I…I really do miss them…don't I? Mr. Wright, Trucy, Mr. Edgeworth, and my partner-in-crime…how could I forget?

Athena Cykes. I'm coming home. To where everything started.
