ERASE
It's so hard to rub out,
the lines you sketched across my skin.
The slightest pull,
leaves me like paper crumbling.
You coloured me in;
with strokes as dark as sin.
Seeping through my canvas,
brushes so scandalous.
I need to erase you.
Clean every trace of you.
It still burns me up inside;
the way you laughed, cheated and lied.
I need to erase you.
You dragged me in like a magnet.
My metal cage felt more like sand,
slipping through my fingers
right in the palm of your hand.
I need to erase you.
You can't be permanent.
Even forever has an end,
I need to douse the flames.
And put an end to all your cruel games.
