Chapter 1
As the early light of dawn floated through the windows, the Cliffhanger girls stirred.
JULIETTE: Why is there a sun?
SHELBY: So Freakin can tell Daiz that she looks good in that light.
Daisy looks over to Shelby and gives her a little "Very funny" look.
KAT: Didn't you guys love the Morp last night?
DAISY: Yeah it was actually kinda fun.
JULIETTE: I had the time of my life last night.
Shelby remains silent. She sits there in her bed with a big smile on her face.
DAISY: Penny for your thoughts Shelb?
SHELBY: I'm just so glad Scott came back.
JULIETTE: There's more to it than that. Don't keep secrets Shels, they don't make friends.
SHELBY: What makes you think I'm keeping a secret? (she says this with her big smile still on her face)
KAT: We can tell Shel.
Shelby dwells on the thought. Should she tell them what Scott said?
DAISY: Guys, she doesn't have to tell us if she doesn't want to.
SHELBY: Thanks Daiz.
DAISY: We can just ask Scott.
Shelby's smile fades. The other girls get up and start to walk towards the door. Shelby gets up and runs to the door to block them.
SHELBY: Ok, ok, I surrender. I'll tell you.
They all go back to the beds and prepare for Shelby's secret.
SHELBY: Scott, he told me something last night. It's really good for our relationship. He told me he loved me.
JULIETTE: That's great Shels! I'm so happy for you guys!
SHELBY: Thanks. But the thing is, I didn't say it back.
KAT: Well why not? You do love him don't you?
DAISY: Don't be silly, of course she does.
Shelby looks at the girls with a worried look on her face.
JULIETTE: No, Shels, you have to love him. He'd die if you didn't!
SHELBY: I think I do. Yet, sometimes, I think I don't, ya know?
KAT: I know exactly how you feel. Me and Hank fight all the time, but deep down I know I love him.
DAISY: Shelby, I know you might be confused about it, but I think you know you love him.
SHELBY: I am confused. Maybe I shouldn't tell him I love him until I know for sure.
Boy's dorm
SCOTT THINKING: Why didn't Shelby say she loved me last night? I'll try again at breakfast and she what she says.
AUGGIE: Yo, meat, why you up so early?
SCOTT: Thinkin'.
EZRA: About what?
DAVID: Duh, Shelby.
SCOTT: I'm thinkin' about something she said, or rather, didn't say, last night.
EZRA: Ooh, you get dissed?
SCOTT: In a way.
AUGGIE: Sorry man.
SCOTT: Don't worry about it. I plan on trying to fix it at breakfast.
