I open my mouth
and all my friends turn away
they scream at me and shout
"Not another religious rant today!"
I start to speak
and they all cover over there ears
but all I wanted
was to ease there mid-term fears
I don't want you to convert
and I don't carry 'round the book
and just because your atheist,
doesn't earn you a dirty look
My friends aren't all catholic
and I don't go to church each day
I don't want to be a nun,
of which I'm proud to say
I may be a pro-lifer
but that's of my own accord
I don't need some man in black
to tell me, that's for sure
I'll denounce the witch burning,
the pig headed-ness and the greed
and even if your different
you soul will still be freed
you don't have to get on your knees
and pray to my god
cause between you and me,
I find most prayers worth sod
Worship what you want
right in my face
just don't tune me out
and dismiss me in a haste.
