Just telling someone you've been traveling through the time vortex with an alien that looks like a human in his police telephone box isn't exactly something you would believe right off the bat. Kurt couldn't blame his brother. It was midnight on Christmas Eve, and he'd sprinted quietly through his house to Finn's room, leaving Blaine standing in the doorway of the TARDIS.
After several attempts at waking Finn up without also waking up Carol or Burt, Kurt finally resorted to smacking him while keeping one hand over his mouth. Finn's eyes snapped open with fear. Kurt put a finger to his lips.
"Kurt?"
"Get dressed. Fast. Meet me downstairs," Kurt strode out the door, but put his head through the doorframe once more. "Oh, and I'm back!"
Finn was still pulling up his baggy jeans when he stumbled down the stairs. His hair was sticking up in all directions and he still had that excitedly confused look on his face. He leaned against the kitchen counter to catch his breath.
"Get me caught up, little brother."
"Finn—"
"Please, Kurt. You left and I want to know why."
"I've been traveling through the time vortex with an alien that looks like a human in his police telephone box for the last week," Kurt silently prayed that Finn was too tired to not believe him. Not a chance.
"First of all, what? That's insane! Can you not lie to me? Please, Kurt, I'm not as stupid as you think I am!" Kurt grabbed one of Finn's hands that were flying around for emphasis on what he was saying. He sat down on one of the kitchen stools. The familiarity of the house made him sad, because he hadn't seen it in so long. And here was his brother—utterly confused and upset. Kurt couldn't even bear to think what his dad might be like. Finn rubbed his eyes with his knuckles and looked at Kurt expectantly.
"I told you the truth, Finn. I have proof right outside." It took a while for Kurt to convince Finn to come. He hadn't wanted to go outside in the cold, snowy night.
Finn stepped off the doorstep and onto the fresh snow. He could see a large blur in the darkness in front of the house. A space in the blur opened, bathing the yard in soft gold light. The outline of a man cast a shadow over the white ground.
"Finn, this is Blaine. Or the doctor. I normally just call him Blaine."
"Finn! Hello! I'm Blainers—er, Blaine. I've heard so much about you, mister!" Kurt gave him a gentle shove towards the box. He eventually stepped inside of it, but he had to step out just as soon. That was not possible. Why was that like that? The box wasn't that big, was it? He ran around the entire thing, knocking his fist against the sides. Then he stuck his head back inside.
"It's bigger on the inside!" Kurt grabbed his wrist before he could run around the TARDIS again and pulled him inside. He shut the door behind him. Blaine was leaning against the console in the middle of the room. Finn gaped.
"Want to see some aliens, big brother?" Kurt grinned and grabbed onto one of the handrails as Blaine started pushing buttons and pulling levers on the console. The box shuddered and Finn was thrown backwards. Blaine looked down at him.
"Welcome aboard, companion!"
