Here I kneel, in front of disarrayed trees, crying. Burying my face within my wet hands. My tears could not possibly wash away the hurt and heaviness in my weak heart. I knew he loved her, but why did I have to convince myself that somewhere there, in his cold heart could he love a pathetic being like me? After all these years of battle: wins and loses, laughs and cries, could he possibly still be in love with her?
"Kagome? Are you alright?" His sultry voice called to me. Kneeling down on one knee, he tried to look into my tear swollen eyes.
"What do you mean am I alright?!" I ask with frustration, as I stood up, clenching a fist at my chest, looking down upon the mint colored grass. Fortunately, my hair covered my stuffy eyes, leaving no evidence of my long time cry. I turn back, ready to leave this era, away from my cruel lover.
"Please Kagome, please stay." He said soothingly, as if he was calming a sobbing baby. He tried to reach for me with his demonic hand.
I froze where I stood, watching the leaves slowly fall down to the prepared ground.
"Stay?!" I hissed. "So that I could be their for you whenever your hungry, whenever your angry, whenever Kikyo breaks your heart? I think not." I simply stated.
A pause of resentment filled the air.
"No Kagome, I want you stay because... I love you."
