A/N: Hey guys! Thought I'd give you all a St. Patrick's Day themed story to celebrate the up coming holiday! I love St. Patrick's Day because of all the pretty green everywhere! Green is like a magical color, isn't it?! Lol!
This is going to be a short story. And please bare with me on trying to sound Irish-English in this because as you may know, I'm not Irish. I'm all American. And probably, if not all, of the words that are suppose to be Irish are probably just Old English words. So, if I offend anyone who is Irish with my horrible understanding of the language, then I'm sorry. Please don't hate me for it. With that, I hope you all will like it!
Disclaimer: I do not own My Babysitter's A Vampire. But I wish I did.(*throws a gold coin in fountain, but nothing happens*) Well, it was worth a try. Lol! But I do however, own this story's plot and the OC villain in it. So, yay for that! :)
It was a rainy day outside and the town's St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival had been cancelled for today. Rory and Benny were totally bummed out about it. Ethan, Benny, Rory, Sarah, and Erica had all planned on going to it, just for fun. But now that the festivities were cancelled, they were currently just hanging out at Ethan's, waiting for the rain to finally quit.
Finally after about 3 hours, the rain had finally quit. When Rory looked outside, he saw a beautiful rainbow appear across the sky. A huge smile had spread across his face at the sight.
"Hey, guys! Check this out!" he beamed.
The others walked over to the window and looked up at the sky and saw the rainbow.
"So. It's a rainbow. What's the big deal about it?" asked Erica flatly.
"Don't you get it, my sweet! Everyone knows that rainbows are lucky and if you follow one then there's suppose to be a pot of gold at the end of it!" he replied, cheerfully.
Erica just rolled her eyes in annoyance at the other blonde vampire.
"Rory. I highly doubt that's true. It's only a myth." commented Ethan, skeptically.
"But still! It wouldn't hurt to try." replied Rory.
"But, isn't it like impossible to actually follow a rainbow? It's nothing more than just light reflecting of the water in the clouds." added Sarah.
"Come on, guys! It would be really fun and exciting! Plus, it beats sitting around here doing nothing since they cancelled the parade and festival today. I always wanted to follow a rainbow, but couldn't because it was always to hard to do. But now that I'm a vampire, it should be way easy to accomplish now!" begged Rory in delight.
Everyone just looked at each other in the room and then shrugged there shoulders in agreement. Rory practically squealed with excitement and quickly ran out the door, leaving the others behind with questioning looks on their faces about the strange vampire.
They followed the rainbow which lead them into the woods. Ethan wasn't too sure about this and had a bad feeling about the whole thing. He tried to get the others to turn back and just forget the whole idea, but Rory was just too persistent about it.
"Guys." he piped in. "I'm not too sure about this. Maybe we should just go back and do something else. I mean, Sarah's right. Rainbows are nothing more than just light. There's nothing really magical about them." implied Ethan.
"Come on, E! Be adventurous a little! Will ya?! It's just a little harmless trip through the woods, to find the end of a rainbow!" stated Benny. "And besides, in this town anything can happen." he added, clasping Ethan's shoulder with his hand before walking on ahead of him.
Ethan just sighed in defeat. Benny was right. In this town, anything is possible. He just hoped that all this was nothing more than just a myth and that there wasn't anything real about it.
They trekked through the woods for another hour, exhuasted. Well, Ethan and Benny were exhuasted do to the fact that they were human and didn't have any of that vampire endurance that the others possessed.
"Are we almost there, yet?" panted Benny, sounding tired and out of breath.
"Yeah! Can't we stop and take a break?" added Ethan, also out of breath.
Rory shook his head. "No! If we stop now, the rainbow might disappear!" he replied. "Come on! I think that we're almost there, anyways." he said, continuing on ahead with the girls. Both Ethan and Benny just let out groans of anguish.
Eventually, they finally made it to where it seemed liked the rainbow had ended. Everyone just stood there with looks of shock and amazement on their faces at what they saw in front of them, except for Rory who had a huge grin on his face. There at the end of the rainbow, sat a big black pot of gold, glistening in the light.
"See! I told you it was real!" boasted Rory, in 'I told you so' kind of way.
The others just nodded their heads at him in response, while Erica just rolled her eyes at him.
"Come on! Our pot'o gold awaits." said Rory trying to sound Irish, leading the way. Sarah, Benny, Erica, and Ethan followed behind him.
Once they got closer to it, they immediatedly stopped as they heard a mysterious cackle and laugh nearby. Out from behind the big pot, appeared a small man with red hair and a red beard. He was dressed strangely in a lot of green. He wore a green top hat that had a black band around it and a buckle, there was four leaf clover sticking out from the black band part of the hat, he had a green jacket that had the chain of a golden pocket watch hanging out of the breast pocket, green slacks that stopped just above mid calf, black shiny shoes that had a gold buckle on them, and green and white striped socks that disappeared under his pants legs. His ears were slightly pointed. They couldn't believe what they were seeing. Only one word came to mind. Leprechaun.
"Welcome! And greetings! Me fine laddies and lassies! I see that you have found me pot'o gold at the end of the rainbow." he said with a smile, in an Irish accent. "My name be Lucky Mc'Farland!" he introduced himself, taking off his hat and bowing to them. He then stood back up and placed the hat back on top of his head.
Ethan wasn't sure what it was about this guy, but he was picking up on some bad vibes coming from him. He didn't trust this guy one bit.
"Hey, there Lucky! I'm Rory!" greeted Rory, excitedly. "And this Sarah, Benny, Erica, and Ethan!" he said, as he pointed to each one of them.
Lucky smiled at the group. His smile then turned to a smirk as he looked towards Ethan's direction. Ethan felt a chill run down his spine from the small man's smile.
"It is very nice to met you all. As you may have guessed, I am a leprechaun." he replied, kindly to them.
"So, since we found your pot of gold, does that mean we get to keep it?" asked Benny, with a hopeful look in his eyes.
"Sadly, me lad. No. I'm afraid that part of the myth tis false." Lucky answered. Benny's face then fell into a frown. "But! However! You all will still be rewarded for your journey here!" he added. Then a huge smile appeared back on Benny's face again. "I will give each of you, laddies and lassies one gold coin each." he answered with a smile.
"That's it? Just one gold coin? Lame." scolfed Erica.
"Ah! But these gold coins are special, me dear lass! For they will grant you one and only one wish each!" he informed her. He then lefted up his hand towards the pot and five gold coins floated into the air from the rest of the gold coins. The five coins followed the leprechaun's movement and floated towards the teenagers, one floating in front of each of them. "I must warn you though. You should be careful what you wish fer, as things don't always happen the way we always want them to." he warned.
Everyone, took their coin into their hands, except for Ethan. He was hesitant about it. Something just didn't seem right about this.
"Come on, E! This is our chance to have our biggest wish come true! We could ask for anything!" said Benny, trying to convince his friend.
Ethan just looked at him skeptically, not too sure about the idea of having one of your wishes come true with magic. Magic and wishes never go together to well.
"I don't know..."he trailed.
Erica rolled her eyes at Ethan's indecisiveness. "Oh come on, Nerd! Just stop being an over cautious and paranoid geek for once and live a little! Will ya?!" snapped Erica at him, in an annoyed manner.
After a few seconds of thinking it over, he cautiously took the coin that floated in front of him. He figured if anything, he could at least study the thing to learn more about it and leprechauns. After taking the coin, Ethan saw the smirk that appeared on Lucky's face and he could of sworn that he saw his eyes flash green for a brief moment.
"Well, then! That be that, me fair laddies and lassies! For I must be going now! Farewell! And good luck to you all." he said, a little bit ominously. And then with a snap of his fingers, he magically disappeared along with the pot of gold. The rainbow then began to slowly fade away, until it was completely gone.
"So, now what?" piped Sarah, looking at the others questioningly.
Benny just shrugged. "I guess now we head back to town." he supplied.
Then everyone, turned and started to head back in the direction that they came from. Ethan just stood there, narrowing his eyes at where the little man had been just seconds ago, in thought.
"Are you coming or not, E?!" shouted Benny, in the distance.
Snapping out of it, he then yelled back with a "yeah" and turned around to follow them out of the woods.
A/N: And that is were the first chapter ends, my friends! It seems like Ethan thinks there's more to this leprechaun than meets the eye. I guess his Seer senses are tingling! Lol! I wonder what the gang will use their golden coin on to wish for? Hmm...
And Lucky Mc'Farland has no relation to Lucky Charm! Except, for you know. They're both leprechauns. Lol!
So, I'll see in you in the next chapter my wee laddies and lassies!
