When he met her he didn't know what he was feeling. At first he tried to deny it, he tried to pretend he didn't like her but it didn't work. To like her was inevitable.

She was funny, she had this awesome taste in music that at first hurt his pride but at the time not liking her was an impossible thing. Now he knew why he was so afraid of that feeling, it was more than friendship and it was something new and scary, a girl having that effect on him.

There was this necessity of being closer to her at all times, he couldn't imagine not being able to talk to her, touch her or just watch the way she wrinkled her nose. He knew she was one of a kind.

When he knew about her mental breakdown he was desperate to see her and today was her mother's wedding reception and he was invited along with the others from the gang. He didn't know how to approach her to talk about his feelings. He knew the kiss with Archie didn't mean anything and he was worried about her. He couldn't think about what could happen if he lost her.

So here he was, at the reception. She was in a blue dress and looked so beautiful, it was breathtaking. After talking to her mom she went outside and she didn't notice he was there so he followed her.

She turned and saw him, she looked surprised.

"Finn."

"I wanna tell you something."

"What..what is it, Finn?"

He took a deep breath.

"I know about everything."

"You do?"

Rae's eyes started to tear up.

"Yes"

"Finn…"

"Let me say this, Rae." He approached her and held her hand. "You're so important to me. I want you to get better and I hope you'll let me be there for you. Please."

She looked shocked.

"You mean too much to me, Rae. I've never felt this before."

He lifted his hand and caressed her face before hugging her. Then he kissed her cheek and just looked to her face for some seconds before kissing her on the lips. It was a simple kiss but that meant so much to him. He broke the kiss and whispered:

"Let me be there for you."

Rae smiled and said: "I need you by my side."

And then they hugged one last time and for one minute everything was forgotten, it was just the two of them, nothing else mattered.

And then he said:

"Let's go inside before your mother comes looking for us."

"Yes, we better, you know how she is." She laughed.

"I know." He said smiling.

And he also knew they had each other and everything would be alright.

I wrote this before the finale so that's why I don't mention what happened between Finn/Chloe, Rae/Chloe, etc.
