A/N: So what'd you all think of the series finale? I'm still a firm believe of Zutara, even though the show's 3 year run ended with a big, sloppy Kataang kiss.
This story was inspired by the hilarious episode "Ember Island Players".
Lets make a deal: you review for me, and I'll review for you.
Shadow of the Moon
"You made out with the Moon Spirit?" Suki giggled. She was unsure if her laughter was a response to the ridiculous satire or to the uneasy feeling that had risen in her stomach.
It was crazy of her to think that she was Sokka's first and only girlfriend. She didn't of course - she just never thought about it.
"Shh! I'm trying to watch!" Sokka whispered, his eyes glued to the stage. As Suki watched her boyfriend from the corner of her eye, she could see what looked like tears well up in his eyes.
Sokka was crying?! To Suki, he seemed like the kind of boy who never cried in public.
Come to think about it, she didn't know very much about him, her boyfriend. Between the trips to and from Kyoshi Island, fighting with Azula, and being held captive at the Boiling Rock, Suki hardly knew anything about Sokka.
What was he like as a child? Did he and Katara fight a lot when they were younger? Did he have a lot of friends back in the Water Tribe? Was he good in school? What was his pet peeve? Why did he want to be a warrior so bad?
…And what the hell went on with him and the moon spirit?
A million questions popped into her mind at once. How'd he meet her, and how much did she mean to him? …Did Yue mean more to Sokka than Suki did to him? Did she really die like it said in the play?
Suddenly she remembered her and Sokka sitting alone on a cliff, before they entered the Earth Kingdom. As Suki trudged up the steep hill towards him, she could tell from a distance that her boyfriend was feeling down.
When she attempted to make conversation with him, he made no effort to hide his emotions. They were all over his tan skinned face, lit up by the moon light…
He was upset over her. The Moon Spirit. Yue.
Suki had never been the jealous type, but she could sense the discomforting feeling in her stomach and in her heart.
She looked over at him again. The theater was dark, but the lights from the stage caught on his tears.
Suki wondered what it would be like if Yue was still around. Would she be? There in the dark lit theater with Sokka's arm around her?
Suki slinked slowly away from her boyfriend's grasp and slumped in her seat. Maybe she'd ask all these burning questions in the morning.
A/N: Alright, nothing special, just a little one-shot. Remember to review!! I'll review for you!!
