Random idea.

Just how I thought this should have went. Victor and Vera arguing? I mean, how often do you bloody see that?

"Who were you calling?" Vera asked as she steppted into Victor's office, then closed the door behind her.

"I was considering contacting Mr Sweet," cam his gruff reply.

"What for?"

"ALFIE LEWIS!" he growled.

Vera was caught off gaurd with his outburst, but took only a second to recompose herself. "Calm yourself, Victor. There is nothing to suggest that the boy has come to any harm."

"HE HAS DISAPPEARED, HAS HE NOT?" Victor shouted.

"Yes, but his friends don't seem to be pannicking or asking questions about where he's gone. do they?"

He paused for a minute, calming himself before he said, "What are you saying, Vera?" in as smooth a tone as he could manage. Vera's reply was immediate.

"I'm wondering why! Unless they know, of corse, where he is and that he's safe! So...perhaps..." She gave a slight laugh near the end of the sentence, just before it drifted off. Victor turned to face her.

"Perhaps?" He urged.

"You were right. And they were pretending to be under our control."

"And you know this, how?" Victor cried.

"I'm just judging by the evidence. They must know he is safe and well or else they would be asking questions! And who would they be asking? Us! Wouldn't we at least see them looking for her?"

"Vera, if they are not asking questions right now, they may be trying to trick us into thinking they know something. They want to see what we will do! They don't want to show that they're worried, they want to make out they know everything like those little rats always do! If we do not come up with an exuse for Mr Lewis for them, then we have to at least come up with one for Mr Sweet! We made a child disappear!"

"I'm quite sure they know where he is! Quite sure! And we cannot tell Mr Sweet, what will he say? And you say 'We made a child disappear!' as if we meant it!" she said, doing an impression of Victor when she said about disappearing kids.

Victor huffed. "As if we purposely got rid of Lewis! Yes, I'll thank you very much for getting rid of my least favourite of the little rats!"

"You need to get a grip of yourself Victor. Let me know when you do," she said as she put on a big fake smile before storming out and slamming the door behind her.

He sighed as he watched her clip clop down the stairs in her high heels, in a rage like a stroppy teenager. He rolled his eyes and reached out to stroke Corbier.

"I wonder what that was about, hm? She will get over herself."

Bored, I suppose *shrugs*
