side note-my response to the smallville crayola challenge. dedicated to kat, for listening to my rambles about how the colors match the characters and so on!
"Hey, want some help?" Chloe asked from behind Clark. Clark turned
to face her, and as soon as he saw her face-wide grin, he grinned
too.
"You bet. Grab the last one." Clark instructed. Chloe obliged and
followed Clark through the throngs of people at the Farmer's Market
to the Kent's booth and set the box down.
"Head's up!" Clark said as he tossed Chloe an apricot from one of
the boxes.
"Thanks, big breakfast." Chloe said as she caught it and threw it
back.
"Son, you're eating the profit." Jonathan Kent said as Clark bit
into the apricot.
"Come on, we're leaving. I need help rearranging my room." Chloe
explained to the Kents.
"Have fun, son!" Jonathan said as an older woman walked up to the
Kent's booth. "Ms. Samson, nice to see you! What can I do for you?"
Chloe smiled at Ms. Kent as Clark followed her to the parking lot.
"What if I don't want to move furniture?" Clark whined.
"Did I ask if you wanted too?" Chloe grinned, looking at Clark.
"No, and it really sucks." He replied.
"Aw, I'm sorry." Chloe said, slipping his hand through his. "Now
quit your belly aching and get in the car!" She laughed as they
reached her car.
"No." Clark said, standing still.
"No?" Chloe said, turning towards him with what she hoped was an
intimidating look on her face.
"Nope. You didn't even ask." Clark said, looking down at her stiffly.
"You," Chloe said, standing on her tip toes to point in his
face. "Seem to think you have a say in this matter." Chloe said
menacingly, still standing on her tip toes.
"What are you gonna do, Shorty?" Clark retorted.
"Oh no, you." Chloe trailed off, baffled by her lack of names to
call Clark, due to their sudden closeness.
"Me what?" Clark asked softly as Chloe stared at him. He tentatively
leaned his head towards the left, and Chloe instinctively moved her
head towards the right. Clark leaned forward a bit, and Chloe closed
the gap between their mouths.
"You." Chloe said as Clark pulled away and she waited for her heart
to start beating normally again.
`Me what?" Clark asked again.
Chloe giggled and looked into his eyes. "You taste like apricots."
She giggled again.
"You sound cute when you giggle." Clark responded.
"Be proud, you're the only one that has ever made me giggle before."
Chloe said as her heartbeat returned to normal and so did her snarky
comebacks.
"Really? Guess I'm gonna have to do it again." Clark smiled and
leaned down to kiss her again.
