"Eli, he's so adorable, I want him!" Eli smirked, watching his girlfriend play with his aunt's puppy. The little labrador was only 3 months old and was covered in little tufs of black fur. His name was Midnight, and he was having a blast, rolling in the carpet and licking Clare's fingers.
"My friend's dogs just had puppies, I'm sure they're looking for homes for all of them, I could give them your information," Eli's aunt Nicole offered, but Clare shook her head sadly.
"My parents would never agree to let me get a dog; plus, my mom's allergic anyway." Clare rubbed the puppy's tummy. Cece walked into the room.
"Nicole, I need you in the kitchen for a second, I know you're on your way out," she apologized, and Aunt Nicole shook her head and smiled.
"It's okay, I have nothing but time," she put her bag down, following Cece into the kitchen. "I'll be right back guys."
"You get to spend a few more minutes with me," Clare spoke to the puppy as if it were a small child.
"That puppy is getting more love than me right now," Eli stated, watching as Clare kissed it's little white nose.
"Feeling jealous, Goldsworthy?" Clare laughed.
"Hell yeah," Eli joked, "You never rub my tummy like that, I feel left out." He pouted.
"Eli, your ticklish, if I tried to touch your tummy, you'd freak out," Clare commented.
Eli rolled his eyes. "Details, details," he waved his hand in the air.
"Midnight, it's time to go," Aunt Nicole called. The little puppy picked it's head up, hearing it's name. He walked over to Aunt Nicole, who picked him up. "Bye guys. It was nice meeting you Clare!" She called, smiling.
"You too," Clare waved, plopping down on the couch next to Eli as soon as the door was shut. She sighed. "I want a puppy. You should get a puppy." She stated.
"I can't get a puppy, they're too much work."
"But they're puppies!" Clare cried, "They're cute and adorable and fun to play with -"
"So are you, and you're a handful. I don't know how I deal," Eli smirked, earning himself a playful smack on the arm by Clare. He put his arm around her, snuggling her close.
"I still want a puppy." She mumbled. Eli rolled his eyes.
"Woof."
