Now, bare with me... I know you were probably expecting an awesome story, and trust me, it will be, but only if you, the reader, want it. So far, I have the main idea planned out, and I want to know if I should actually write and post it, or if no one will read it, and it will be a waste of time and effort. Please tell me if I should continue writing this or not. That said, here it is.

The Joker is not a super villain, but Jack Napier, an ordinary man in an insane asylum. His wife was killed by the mob, and in an attempt to kill himself he jumped into a vat of chemicals where he worked.
He survived, but in his desperation, his mind created a fantasy world so that he would not have to face reality. All of heroes and villains of Gotham City are members of the asylum, warped in his mind.
Scarecrow/Johnathan Crane- As a teacher, locked his science class in a room full of ammonia, killing them, thus his use of chemicals.
Poison Ivy/Pamela Isley- OCD. Obsession with plants and all plant life. Feminist. Was A scientist before trying to kill a co-worker after they forgot to water her plants while she was on vacation.
Harley Quinn/Harleen Quinzel- Abusive boyfriend. He had pushed her down the stairs, cracking her skull and causing brain damage. Her mind reverted to a child-like state, although she will sometimes, though rarely, have bursts of clarity. Openly likes Joker.
Mr. Freeze/Victor Fries- Harboring the body of his dead spouse in his freezer, unable to believe that she was dead. Killed three police officers after they tried to take her away, landing him in Arkham Asylum.
Two-Face/Harvey Dent- Severe facial burns. OCD. Bipolar. Obsession with duality and unable to make even simple decisions by himself.
The Riddler/Edward Nigma- OCD. Obsession with riddles and questions. Created a death trap out of common household items, trying to prove to his father, the victim, that he was smarter than him.
Catwoman/ Selena Kyle- Obsession with cat-themed objects. Attempted rape. Burglary. After attempting to jump out a window after a stolen heirloom, she was found to be too mentally unstable to care for herself. She sneaks out of her cell regularly, often visiting other inmates.
The Mad Hatter/ Jervis Tetch- Hallucinations. Besides that, his backstory matches Batman the Animated Series.
The heroes, on the other hand, are not inmates.
Batman/Bruce Wayne- His physiologist. Same origin story, although instead of becoming Batman, he decided to stop people like the crook who killed his parents before they had a chance to do the same to other people.
Alfred Pennyworth- Bruce Wayne's personal assistant, and much liked by everyone in the asylum.
Batgirl/Barbra Gordon- Asylum secretary. Lost the use of her legs in a car accident.
Commissioner Gordon/James Gordon- Head of security, and trusted friend of Bruce Wayne.
All of the Robins were the ones who escorted the Joker to and from his cell. The first Robin was Dick Grayson, who became a doctor at the asylum, thus his transformation into Nightwing. The second Robin was Jason Todd, who quit his job(died) before being re-hired a short time later as a sucurity guard(becoming Red Hood). The third Robin, Tim Drake, is his current escort, and the fourth Robin, Damian Wayne, is Bruce's son, who often-times comes to the asylum after school.
This is a story about the Joker's point of view versus his Doctor's. A retelling of events from both fantasy and reality, while Bruce slowly gets drawn into the Joker's world.
