A/N: I was never an Obi-Wan/Padme shipper (I refuse to call it Obidala!). I thought it was sacrilige. Then I started RPing as Obi-Wan and did a scene with Padme where Padme was definitely in love with Anakin, but was not above flirting with Obi, and found how easy it was for the two of them to be together. I guess I wasn't so far from the Obi/Padme-bandwagon as I had originally thought.

And for the record, I wrote this a full month before ROTS came out, which meant that we didn't really know Anakin's suspicions regarding Obi/Padme yet.

I win at SW predictions.

When he saw her, his heart skipped a beat. He gathered her in his arms, hugging her close and kissing her soundly. Breathing in her scent was like breathing in Life. He hair fell through his fingers in a silken fountain; her soft, supple body moulded to his as their souls merged.

The kiss left them both panting for more. Yet they knew it could not be. Not now. But later, yes. Later they would fall into each other, as they wanted to now.

"Padme." The word was a prayer, reverently spoken.

"Obi-Wan." His name was a talisman brandished with joy.

"Did he suspect...?"

"No." Her smile was radiant.

He laughed in nervous relief. The day would come when he would find out, they both knew, but for now they were safe. Safe to love each other freely under the cover of darkness.

"Let's pray he never does."

"Always. Now kiss me, Obi-Love."

He devoured her mouth, understanding her demand as a plea to not let these moments be wasted. He let the feeling of those soft lips burn upon his senses, locking the intoxication he felt only when he loved her away for those lonely moments that always followed these interludes.

Theirs was a forbidden love, not just because he was Jedi, but also because she belonged to another. And that other, if he knew, would kill them both if he found out. So, cloak and dagger it had to be, letting their love flourish under the gravest of circumstances.

In a few moments, she would leave him to go back to the other that loved her.

In a few moments, she would leave him to keep up appearances.

In a few moments, she would leave him to take up another forbidden love affair...

...with Anakin Skywalker.
