A/N: Written for the Advent Calendar Challenge, Day 6 – write a crossover, including at least one fandom outside the yugioh line. I have a more detailed crossover between these two in the works, but this one's on a slightly different vein. Enjoy!
Challenging Death-T
They had guts challenging Death-T. Kaiba had to give them that.
But that was all he could give them. And that was all he was going to give them too.
'No.'
The boy frowned. The girl gripped the boy's sleeve and stared at Kaiba. It might have made a lesser man sweat, but not Kaiba.
'Haven't you heard of us? The boy asked. 'We're Blank.'
Kaiba had heard of them. And he might have been a smidge impressed as well. Their reputation for defeating every game and opponent they played preceded them.
But Kaiba knew of somebody else like that.
'Death-T is closed,' he said flatly. 'Permanently. Why don't you two run along and play something more suitable to your…ages.'
The girl frowned. The boy's eyes flashed. It seemed neither of them liked being patronised – but that was what happened when one walked in to an amusement park looking for a death match six months too late.
Death-T had been a one-off thing. All that remained of it was the Kaiba Dome – the place where Kaiba had had his first public defeat.
It was a matter of pride for him. Even if he was somewhat glad he'd lost that particular match.
Just that one.
Regardless, Death-T was too dangerous to keep around in an amusement park for children and it was tarnishing its very image. And it was useless without the criminals he'd used and that driving resentment in his heart.
So it had been torn down and rebuilt: a tower supporting the Kaiba Dome.
There was no longer anything called Death-T.
'Get it in to your thick heads,' Kaiba snapped when the pair didn't move. 'Death-T is gone. It doesn't exist any more.'
The boy pouted. 'Pooh,' he said. 'It sounded like fun too.'
'It does,' the girl agreed.
Kaiba decided they didn't have guts. And they didn't have a brain between them either.
'This was a waste of time.'
'Indeed.'
Kaiba refrained from commenting on the roundabout insult to his theme park. He decided the pair known as Blank was even more crazy than Yugi.
Then again, Yugi had beaten Death-T. Those two might have stood a chance.
But since Death-T no longer existed, no-one would ever knew if they could have beaten it.
