AN: Another drabble thingy. Yaaaaayyy!
He poked his head through the white doors, searching James and Lily. And the baby, hopefully. The Healer didn't notice him at first, mistaking his shaggy hair as part of the large mural behind him from the corner of her eye, but Lily did. Red faced and sweaty, she screamed at him, "GET OUT!"
"No Prongslet then?"
"Mr. Black! You must leave this instant," the Healer said with a hard edge to her voice.
Lily picked up an empty cup- it had been used for ice chips before, he thought- and raised her arm. Lily could be a very good shot when she needed to -Honestly, Evans, you could have been a beater- and Sirius wasn't taking any chances. He ran out of the room, hands protecting his face. "Watch the goods," were his departing words.
He ran directly into James, whose hair was more dischievled than usual (how is that possible?) and they both fell to the floor.
"Padfoot, I don't have time for this," James said, scrambling to get back to his feet. "There's a baby- A BABY- in my wife! And it's coming out! Merlin, how do we even know it's a baby? We're wizards! Anything could happen! There could be a bloody unicorn in there, for Agrippa's sake! A UNICORN! What if Lily has A UNICORN? I DON'T KNOW HOW TO TAKE CARE OF A UNICORN!"
The mental imagery of what birthing a unicorn foal could do to a woman's body was forming in Sirius' mind. He needed an obliviate. Dazedly, he walk to the waiting area- a bunch of uncomfortable chairs in a circle around a desk with copies of Witch Weekly scattered across the top- and plopped into the seat aside Remus.
"You know, you should really leave them alone," Remus said, not looking up from the book he was reading.
The (rather abrupt) end? Or shall I carry on?
