Prologue
"Jess!" My mum called from downstairs, I put my book 'Divergent' down.
"Comin'" I shouted downstairs, my name if you haven't guessed is Jess and I live in the English countryside with my mum and my dad. Most of my family lives very close by and I have quite a few friends. My favorite things to do are: sing, draw and go for walks in the forest.
I ran down the stairs and saw my mum with puffy red eyes, dad's arm around her. Had she been crying? I felt a lump in my throat.
"What's wrong?" I asked quietly, worried about my parents.
"Jess come sit down..." My dad pointed to the sofa opposite the one they were sitting on. Oh no, did they find out about the music I have that they don't like, maybe I'm grounded. What did I do?! A thousand thoughts of things I'd ever done wrong flashed across my mind as I sat down.
"Jess..." My mum said she sounded broken almost, I frowned and tears gathered in my eyes.
"We have some life changing news... Your adopted and your real family lives in Texas..." Dad said calmly. What?! No! I gasped.
"What? Your joking right..." A tear slid down my cheek, my life has been a lie.
"In a week you'll be moving to Texas the government have decided it. You are now american..." Mum said her voice breaking.
"How could you not tell me!" I shouted "Why didn't you tell me?!" I screamed and ran into my room. A million thoughts rushed through my head as I put my white beats headphones on and buried my head in my pillow. A large sob escaped my lips but was muffled by the pillow. Am I really going to leave my home and go to Texas, this isn't some twisted joke?
So how do you like it? There aren't many gingecast fanfics so I decided to do one and here we are now! It takes me forever to update for future reference.
