A/N- So...I thought I should pay Martha some respect in a fic...not that I'm forgetting our blonde friend but the Doctor also fell in love with Martha...no matter how much we don't want to except it.
Disclaimer: So I don't own the Scotsman or the Londoners or the Welshmen or the Americans on this show...or Martha would be with Frank...or Riley...the Doctor would have Rose and I...well...I'd have something fantastic...give me a Scotsman and I'll be happy!

Martha walked quietly into the console room. The Doctor was reading a crumpled piece of paper. He swallowed hard, stowed the piece of paper carefully in his inside pocket and looked up, sensing someone was there.
"R-Martha", he stammered.
"What was that?"
"N-n-nothing…just a piece of paper…nothing…what's up?"
"Um…well…Doctor", Martha said nervously. "Well…"
"What?"
"I…I love you…just so you know…"
The Doctor remained silent.
"And I know that you don't feel the same", she said, gaining confidence, "and I know that whenever you look at me, you don't see me, you see her, and I know that when it seems like we're getting closer, you pull away, because you don't want to get hurt again, and I know that nothing will ever come of it, but…just so you know…" and she looked at the Doctor, quietly awaiting an answer.
"Um…Martha", was all the Doctor could get out and Martha turned away disappointed.
"Just so you know…"she whispered as she walked out the door.
"Martha…I-" he whispered back as he saw her disappear into her room.
All that he had said seemed so utterly insufficient to her abrupt confession. He had never realized, no…he had never thought about how Martha felt about her relationship with the Doctor or that she may have loved him and that he may…
He has been too busy showing off.
But it all seemed so mean to her, the one he knew that he…but never told. Why should Martha be so much better than her? Why should Martha be told when he never told her?
Selfish, he thought, I'm a stupid, selfish alien.
He never told her because she knew and now she was gone…but it didn't mean that he couldn't tell Martha and feel the same way about her. He would never stop loving the ones that he had lost but he had room in his hearts for another. And he walked into Martha's room.
He appeared at the doorway and Martha looked up. He leant on the door and said,
"I love you too…just so you know"
And she smiled at him, and he smiled back.
She got up and followed him.
Halfway down the corridor the Doctor looked around, smiled at the grinning Martha and said,
"You're following me…just so you know"
