The bed felt cold and empty. Even in sleep she could feel the space where he slept. Flashing stars and moons circled soothingly around the room. Nicholas screams and cries, and Cally remembers.

Aw, frak she hates the screaming, but he's never there. He says he will, but he's never there. He can't find the time to just come home, come to her. Tears stream down her face, blurring her vision, and she's losing control.

She is brought back to the real world by Nickie. With a heavy heart, she rocks him back and forth. All the while she wonders how he can cry so easily and she can't.

Cally keeps her sadness in a cylindrical container of pills. A few a day don't hurt, they help her forget.

Forget...that's what she'd like to do. Forget that her husband won't touch her. Forget that he's never there. Forget that he's seeing another woman. Forget that he's a motherfrakking cylon. A skinbag. A frakking traitor. Forget that he's the father of your son. And the lights still circle the room.

She bites her lip in frustration, with herself and this whole frakking ship. Cally Tyrol...no, not her. Cally Henderson. Cally and Nicholas Henderson. The first and last and only. She slams the pills onto the shelf, and gathers her son up in his blanket. His light illuminates the empty room.

People stare at her, puzzling the reason why she would be out this late at night (or was it early in the morning, Cally couldn't tell) with her child. Her boots echoed down the hallway, in syncopation with her pounding heart.

"Look Nickie," she whispers, "look at all the stars out there..." Slowly, she takes the key from her pocket, and prepares to open the airlock.

Cally really thought that Tory cared. She was so persuasive...maybe it was a trait that all cylons had, Galen certainly had it. Blood dripped from the side of her mouth. Unshed tears still in her eyes, threatening to come out. The door flung open, and as the air was sucked out of her mouth, Cally had one last thought...

"Look at me Nickie, I'm with the moon and stars..."

A/N: Well, it doesn't quite correspond with the episode, but it's close enough. Please tell me what you thought, constructive criticism is accepted.

Disclaimer: If I did own Battlestar Galactica, I wouldn't be sitting here writing fanfiction for it, now would I.
