Dawn was breaking over th emountains as he began to make his way back from the airport.
Heero frowned he still didn't know what had possesed him to do this but he was now classing it as his mission. as he walked down th estreet an early risers voice caught his attention. It was a girl the same age as himself putting out the rubbish, but she was singing as she did it. he caught the trailing end of a verse before she began the next....
"Que sera seraaa!" she stopped as she noticed him and blushed profusley before dropping the bin and watching him. "May i help you?" came the polite inquiry her accent showed her to be not from that area and was slightly upper class as she put her hands behind her back and walked over to the fence so she was facing him.
"How far to the palace?" of course he knew but the less people knew about him the better.
"Ohhh i'd say about three miles that way" she said vaugley waving her arm in the same direction he was headed. "are you part of the new work team?" she added raising her eyebrows. now he looked at her properly she was wearing a lady in waiting outfit.
"No i'm visiting someone there"
"Oh, then would you like me to walk with you? i was about to leave any way."
Heero thought rapidly *i'd better let her otherwise she'll grow suspicious* he thought.
"Yes if you don't mind that is?"
"No! of course not! let me just lock my door" after doing so she joined him outside the fence and pointed to a sign near the corner "a staff bus comes to pick us up if you would like a lift"
he stared at her before giving a slight nod and walking over to it. A steady rumbling filled the air as a minibus pulled into sight. After getting on it the others riding the bus grinned at his companion and started firing questions at her
"where were you last night Rachel?"
"Who's your friend?"
"When are you gonna start singing? its bad luck if you don't you know! you'll break the tradition!" at the last statement everyone burst out laughing including Rachel herself.
"Okay! okay! i'll sing! But which song?"
"the wierd one!"
"humph! well if thats what you think of it i won't sing it!"
"AWwwww, he didn't mean it now sing!"
Heero listened in amazement as the girl next to him began to sing quietly, then louder as the bus driver told her to sing up.
"When i was just a little girl
i asked my mother what would i be?
will i be pretty, will i be rich?
she told me tenderly" here she paused and said "all together now" as a chorus of voices joined in the chorus.
"Que sera sera!

at the last words the bus pulled up and they filed out
Relena was in the court yard and her mouth fell open as she saw Heero
"Heero?" he smiled and stepped up to her catching her face in his hands he looked at her square in th eeye saying
"Relena" before kissing her a chorus of shouts and cheers went up from the staff in the court yard and those hanging out the windows as the couple stood kissing. Then heero pulled away
"Misson..." every one held their breathe "accomplished"
more cheers went up as the pair walked inside accompanied by the staff who had just arrived with Heero and as they walked away Heero heard the girl start singing again
