Just a little something that popped into my head after reading the Mark of Athena! Oh and Spoilers for the third book. Disclaimer: I do not own anything to do with the Percy Jackson, the books or the characters.
Annabeth clung to Percys' hand for dear life as she felt herself begin to slip. She didn't want to fall but at the same time knew it was inevitable. Her whole body ached as arachne tugged harder on her leg and her ankle screamed with pain.
Annabeth knew she was going to die (or at least suffer in Tartarus forever) but she didn't count on Seaweed brain coming with her.
She watched Percy closely as he let go of the ledge and grabbed her hand tighter as they plummeted into the darkness.
Down.
Down.
Down.
Her screams were muffled by the noise of their plummet, the wind circling Annabeth like a cocoon, making her practically deaf.
She was scared, Annabeth would admit that, but as soon as Percys' arms encircled her she felt at ease. Her screams died down and she fisted Percys' shirt – never wanting to let go.
Annabeth was strong. Percy was strong. If anyone could make it through this treacherous journey Annabeth had to believe that they could… otherwise she was afraid the darkness would claim them forever.
THE END.
I know… bit crappy but please tell me what you thought! Review?
