I found this old drabble thing still on my computer and thought that I might as well share. Happy reading.
The Rose started as a bud. Enclosed in the Huntsbush's definition of the world, and not open to any other views of the creatures out there.
The Dragon saw the Rosebud and thought the Rosebud was the prettiest thing that he'd ever seen, but because the Rose was completely inside the Bud, he couldn't see all there was to the Rose.
Then the Rosebud started to open. Outside, she saw a glimpse of the Dragon, but with only a part of him seen. The Rosebud and the Dragon liked what they saw of the other, and grew toward the romantic love that the Rose was meant for.
It was when the Rosebud saw the Dragon's true face that the Rose opened up fully to bloom. Tears of dew covered the face of the Rose, for the Rosebud had been lost. But the Rose was then open to the lives outside the Huntsbush. Providing a view into the bush, she became beautiful to all the outside world that beheld her - the Dragons and their friends.
Yet, the Rose was not fully separated from the Huntsbush. While the Rose connected the Dragons with the roots of the Bush, she was not free from the Bush to join the Dragon she loved. Only at the end when the Rose destroyed the Bush of thorns from which the Rose blossomed could the Rose and the Dragon become their most beautiful selves.
