Random drabble I came up with for someone special! I planned fully to make this something much longer, so, as of now, this is just a draft. 3

Perhaps I'll turn it into a little Christmas special for the two if I can find the time. Anyway, just something short!

"Thank you."

It had been almost a ritual now. The soft touches and warm smiles; neither of them had felt so alive before. The room had become their safety zone. The sole source of comfort for either of the lonely souls. They didn't quite know how to explain it, nor did either of them want an explanation for it. Perhaps it came from the tightening feeling they both seemed to feel at every encounter. Every smile, every laugh, every touch; every moment. It wasn't natural nor was it right. If anyone observed it, they'd probably shake their head in disapproval. However, in this room the two could do as they pleased. No one to tell them otherwise, or to assume. Assumptions had taken over them as of late. Everyone heard the constant gossip and chatter. After all, the lovely blonde wasn't too keen on dresses.

"Thank you..."

The soft voice repeated, red locks burying into the embrace. There wasn't anything wrong was it, was there...? She'd known full well it was a sin for two people to hug. Her daddy always told her, hugs and hand holding led to kissing; and kissing was a sin. They didn't kiss and they didn't even hold hands. They simply held eachother during the nights they were lonely - and everything was perfect.
Neither of them wanted to admit it. They were possessive and jealous; scared and distant. More than friends and less than whatever was next. Neither of them would budge and that was exactly what they both wanted. It wasn't as if either of them minded not moving. Right now, the thought of moving was the only fear in their stubborn little hearts.

A silence washed over the room as the redhead drifted off. The blonde paused, smile crossing her lips. "Don't thank me, stupid." She mumbled, arms wrapping tightly around her frame, to tug her close. On nights like this, they'd curl up and embrace each other to keep comfortable. Kate had nightmares and Betty was just a good dreamcatcher. Her smile slowly faded as she stared at her breathing pillow. They were both exactly the same and completely different.

"Don't you dare thank me for this."
