Sasuke's nickname
One night the genin squad named Team 7 has stayed in a small inn. They've been having dinner, each of them eating the same way as always. Suddenly Sakura has spoken.
"Hey, Naruto slow down a bit!" she screamed at him pretty annoyed. Naruto looked up on her with a scared face.
"Calm it Sakura-chan! This isn't your first time seeing me like this." said the blonde cheerfully.
"Of course" she sighed "but I've already gained a few pounds just watching you guys' eat." and finished with a bit of a sulking. Sasuke - who was silently eating next to their sensei until this moment - just couldn't let her get away on this.
"Complain just when we can finally get some use of you on our missions." he threw the insult at her at his usual cold voice. The young girl sadly bent her head and Naruto felt rage flaming inside him all aimed towards Sasuke. At last Kakashi was the first to speak.
"Sasuke" he sliced the tense silence "Respect your team mates. How are you going to work with them like this?" he asked, scolding the boy at the same time but it didn't make to touch Sasuke's heart. The raven only gave a "Humph" to clarify the only reason he still works with the two other because he has no other choice.
All the while he took another ration in front of himself. Then Naruto screamed at him.
"Sakura-chan is trying to help as much as she can, you are the one unable to see it!" the trouble-maker loudly defended their only female team mate. Sasuke couldn't help it, but the thought of one of his fairly unusable team mates defending the other made him laugh maliciously. The pink haired girl was about to cry.
Pitying the poor girl a little bit and seeing his student's behavior gave Kakashi a random idea. He turned to the Uchiha kid.
"That's enough for now, Sasuke." he warned him loudly, clearly glaring at the food in front of his student.
His plan worked well, leaving the boy stunned with realization. He turned really embarrassed and also sent a cold death glare towards Kakashi when he was able to recover from his shock. Then he filled a glass with some water and started drinking it to mask his surprise. Naruto did good job not bursting out in a laugh then turned to face the pinkette.
"See, Sakura-chan? No-one's perfect." he whispered to the confused kunoichi who smiled a bit. Now comes the bigger chance, he thought and turned to Sasuke with a fox-like grin.
"What's the matter, Sáska*?" he asked raising his head in victory "Got caught?" he finished widening his grin even more. Sasuke almost spill the water on himself in surprise which made the situation even more embarrassing for him. Seeing his expression made both of his teammates and even his master burst out laughing.
That's how Sasuke got his only nickname.
[*Sáska is mantis in Hungarian. Originally this is the "punch line" of the story because this word is pronounced familiarly to Sasuke's name as it is in the Japanese dub. ]
