The elevator dinged, and Abby turned to see McGee there. He had a black rose and a Caf-Pow! in his hands.
"Hey McGee! What's up?" she asked as her regular, bouncy self.
"Nothing. I thought you might need this," he said and held out the cup.
"And the flower?" Abby asked.
McGee looked down and blushed until he looked as red as the cup of caffeine. "This is for you," he said, and gave her the flower.
They both noticed that their hand brushed one another's as he gave her the flower.
"Thank you Timmy." Abby said. She took a long look at the flower, and a look of solemnity washed over her face. McGee didn't fail to notice.
"You okay Abs?" he asked, worried that she wasn't happy anymore.
"Yeah, I'm fine. It's just…" Abby stopped.
"Just what?" McGee pushed.
"It kinda reminds me of when we were dating. You would bring me flowers and Caf-Pows! all the time." she said quietly.
"Oh." McGee didn't know what to say. "I'm sorry."
"No, it's fine. But…what happened to us, Timmy?" the forensic specialist asked.
"Um, well, you kinda…dumped me." the agent said just as quietly.
Abby walked closer to him, and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Do you think we could pick up where we left off? Could you forgive me?"
McGee blushed again. Then he kissed her lips. The kiss lasted about ten seconds, but it felt like ten hours to Abby and McGee.
"I'll take that as a yes."
