A/N: hey guys... it's been a while, hasn't it? sorry for not posting or updating anything, i've had a lot of personal things going on recently and i've lost all inspiration to write anything! i really am sorry but i hope you like this (-: this is just something i'm writing to pull myself out of writer's block i guess, idk if i'm going to carry this on or not but whatever!
PS: if you suffer from self harm/are easily triggered then i advise you not to read this! i don't know how bad it's going to be, but THIS IS YOUR TRIGGER WARNING!
Darkness. It was choking him. He reached out with his hands but there was nothing there; he was falling. Kicking out with his feet in panic, he felt sheer terror fill his body.
"You can't escape, Sky Knight." A voice broke into his head and he lashed out with his arms, scratching at the air in desperation.
"Leave me alone!" he screamed, trying, but failing, to keep the fear out of his voice. There was a sudden flash of blinding light and he covered his eyes quickly with his hands. A chilling, cackling laughter filled the air; he felt as if he should recognize the voice but he couldn't quite figure out who it belonged to. It was as if it was ingrained in the back of his brain, a faded memory that he had tried to forget.
He felt his body suddenly hit the ground. He felt no pain, just a bone-rattling impact.
And suddenly he was grasping at his duvet and staring at his ceiling, his breath coming in short, panicky gasps. Quickly glancing around, he reminded himself of where he was in an attempt to calm himself down. Every night, it was the same nightmare, but it never became any less terrifying each time. Running his hand through his dark red hair, he shut his eyes briefly, trying to make his brain forget what had happened. When his breathing slowed down and he had stopped shaking he pushed himself up against the back of his bed. Why did this keep happening to him? What was wrong with him?
He slowly forced himself to sit up on the side of his bed and checked the time - it was 4:01 in the morning. He decided to go and get a glass of water from the kitchen in the hope of easing the pounding in his head, and he slowly tip-toed past Radarr who was sleeping in his room.
Walking as quietly as he could into the kitchen, he poured himself a glass of water and sat down on one of the seats, trying to make sense of the mess that was his mind. He rested his arm on the side of the chair and pulled down the long sleeve that covered his arm revealing a large number of horizontal scars that traveled up his arm. He flinched as the scars reminded him of what was going on inside his head. He had never meant for it to happen. It just did, and he had become addicted to the pain. A tear rolled down his cheek and he wiped it away furiously. Pull yourself together, Aerrow, he thought to himself quickly.
The Sky Knight stayed in that position for a long while before forcing himself to stand. He slowly made his way back to his room, and crawled back into bed with the hope that he wouldn't be plagued with that nightmare for a second time.
