RTC: Ah, there's the Kai angst I was going for!

Kai: Damn, this one's hard. If Ray-Tiger-Cat owned Beyblade, there'd be loads more fire. That good enough?

Kai stared into the flickering flames on the birthday candles. They were supposed to represent getting older, but to Kai they meant a lot more.

"Dude, are you just going to sit there and gawk?! There'll be wax all over the cake if you don't hurry and blow them out!" Tyson shouted.

Kai's intense gaze shifted from the candles to the faces of his friends. He really hadn't been expecting this party, but his team-not teams, the Blitzkrieg Boys were there as well-had decided to surprise him.

"Come one Kai, blow them out," Tala suggested softly.

Taking a deep breathe, he blew them all out in one shot. This birthday meant a lot to all of them-after all, it had only been a few months earlier that Kai was battling for his life and defeating Brooklyn. It was a miracle he was even alive to se this birthday.

I've come so far and I'm never going back.
