Hey There Delilah by Plain White T's / Axel Reno / Dark, Fluff, Cute
Someday
Sighing heavily, I lay my guitar back in its case. Cheers erupt around me as I walk off the stage, but all I see is the dark night outside this illuminated bar. Swinging the strap onto my shoulder, I haul the case out. Heading home, I can only think of the love waiting for me at home. It'll be our last night together and I don't want to be late.
Walking in the door, our cute little kitten bounces up to my feet. His pure light orange body stands out drastically from the darkness of the house. I set my guitar case against the wall and walk towards the single bedroom, of this apartment. A dim light shines from under the doorway, showing that he's still up. Opening the door, I begin to take my long red hair down from its ponytail. "I see you're still awake, yo."
He pivots around in the black, rolling computer chair. Shining emerald eyes lock with my own bright amethyst. Tousled crimson spikes layer themselves down to his shoulders, still drooping slightly from a previous shower. The violet reverse teardrop under each eye stands out from his pale skin, he must be stressed again. I stride forward and lay my hand on his light green shirt clad shoulder. "I leave tomorrow, Reno."
"I know Axel. That's why I tired to come home early. But just think, you're so smart, you only have to go two years at this university."
"I don't wanna leave you. I'm going all the way to Twilight Town, do you know how far that is away from here. Twilight Town is completely different from here, Radiant Gardens. It's so much bigger."
I grab his hand and lead him up out of the chair and over to the bed. We sit down next to each other, me putting my arm over his shoulders as he leans into my chest, burying his face in my dress shirt. "Don't think about the thousand of miles that you'll be away. I don't want you to worry about distance." Letting him go, I fall back on the bed, and reach over into the drawer of the bedside table. I produce a transparent case with a silver CD inside, with the name "Axel from Reno" scrawled around it in red sharpie. "Whenever you think you can't make it or you get lonely, and you know you can't call me...I want you to listen to this and listen to my voice. That way I'll be by your side."
Fearing that it might break, Axel grabs it from my nimble fingers and places it on the desk. "I love you Reno...do you think we'll make it?"
I comb my fingers through his hair as he lies down in the crook of my arm. "Of course we will. By the time your done with school, I'll have a steady income, I might even make it big. I'll come to you, even if I have to walk. I'll buy us a new apartment, a better one even, and I'll pay all the bills until you're where you want to be in your career. Then, we'll buy a house and grow old together. We'll have the life we've dreamed about."
"I won't let them bring me down anymore. I'll laugh at them for not seeing my love for you Reno."
"Just promise me you'll stay strong, that we'll get through, and that even when you cry, know I'll be there to wipe those tears away."
I place a kiss on his forehead as he snuggles against my side. Pulling him close, he wraps his arms around my neck. "I promise, got it memorized?"
Chuckling, I grin wide, "I always will 'cause I write my music only for you," and connect my lips to his.
