CHAPTER ONE: Departure

Dipper Pines, a curious twelve-year old boy, was reading the mysterious book that he found a few weeks earlier, Book #3, when his twin sister, Mabel Pines, ran into the room with a sheet of paper in her hands.

"Dipper, look what I found while I was at the arcade!" She said, shoving the paper in his face.

After reading the sheet, he put his hand to his chin.

"Mabel, this clearly says 'TOP SECRET'! We can't read it if it's top secret government stuff!" Dipper scolded.

"Then why'd you read it?" Mabel put her hands on her hips.

"Um…" Dipper tried to think of a good enough excuse, only to be saved by the sound of the twins' "Gruncle" Stan's car pulling into the Mystery Shack's driveway.

Dipper hid the paper in his vest just as Stan walked into the room, an angry look on his face.

"Guess what happened to me today?!" Stan nearly yelled, clearly frustrated.

"What?" Mabel asked, oblivious to Stan's anger.

"I just lost a bet to the general of the U.S. military! And guess what I bet!"

"What?" the twins said at the same time.

"I bet everyone that works at the Mystery Shack! That includes you two, me, Soos, and Wendy!" Stan said.

"Why'd you do that?!" Dipper screamed

"I didn't think that I'd lose!" Stan explained.

"Stan, he's the U.S. general! If he knows how to strategize battle, how could you think a con man like you could beat him in a game of cards?!" Dipper yelled.

Suddenly, a shining black limousine pulled up in front of the Mystery Shack, six motorcycles not far behind. Then a tall man in a nice suit stepped out of the limo, followed by a stern-looking man in an army-green suit. After both men entered the shack, about six Secret Service bodyguards came in and checked the perimeter of the Shack.

The stern-looking man stepped up with a file labeled "TOP SECRET" in his hand.

He cleared his throat. "Stan Pines, for the loss f the bet, your great niece and nephew, and any other personnel that work here are to come with us to Area Fifty-Something to be military test subjects." The man said.

"What's Area Fifty-Something?" Mabel asked.

"That's for me to know and for you to find out!" The man said.

After everyone was packed and ready to go to Area Fifty-Something, they got into the limo and drove off. Unfortunately for Mabel, she wasn't allowed to take her pet pig Waddles with her.

Suddenly, a small, loud-haired boy in a baby-blue suit walked out from behind a wall, a devious smile on his chubby face.

"So, the Mystery Shack is unattended, huh? Looks like I might be able to get my revenge on the Pines family after all." The boy said, an evil smile on his face.
