ACT 1: Genesis

Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth."

Chapter One: Good bye, Hello

You never know when you are going die...but three Nidorino looking for a midnight slaughter would gladly do the job.

My brain would not work, would not process anything. Everything was a blur. I tried to remember why I'd done something so idiotic, but nothing came. Only a fool would anger the Nidorino brothers.

"Run, run, run, as fast as you can," taunted, low, ugly voices from behind.

I cocked my head back, glaring at my pursuers. It was all too easy to sense their Aura. Over Confidence and Excitement poured from them. Excitement for what exactly? Well, I personally think it was excitement for the kill.

"You know," I shouted back, lying through my gritted teeth, "I could stop running and end you right now if I wanted to. You wouldn't stand a chance."

"I'd like to see you try," one of them, the Leader, snarled. "Unless you think you can keep on running." And they flashed me their trademark grins, white teeth gleaming in the moonlight.

So, I ran, because I knew I could run all night. I was a Riolu after all and that is what Riolu do. Feet pounding against the ground, I took a sharp turn down the next alleyway.

Darkness surrounded me. My dream of perfect night vision vanished as I stumbled through the debris. There was barely time to hurtle over an overturned dumpster. I brought my legs under me and rolled safely to the ground.

"Ha ha, suckers!" I cheered and ran straight into a dead end.

No...

Stars circled me head, as I rested against the solid wall. I looked frantically around the alley, There was no way to escape.

"Come on out, girl."

I could hear the Nidorino getting closer. No, not hear, feel. I could feel their Aura, but mine was now vying for power. Fear, Anxiety, and, wait, could that be Courage?

I watched in horror as the dumpster was pummeled by three purple horns. The Nidorino would destroy that thing and then they would destroy me.

"Remember, Riley," I told myself, voice shaking, "remember you can fight. You are strong."

And then I stared as the dumpster was flung into the air, over the alley, crashing God knows where.

My heart raced.

Thump, thump, thump.

I got into a fighting stance.

Thump, thump, thump.

I closed my eyes.

Thump, thump, thump.

Warm breath was on my face. My eyes snapped open. I did not scream.

"Scared?" The Leader smiled. This was something they were looking forward to. I, however, was not.

I pressed myself against the wall. Three to one was not good. Especially when the three was the Nidorino brothers. Pokémon called them brutes, savages, and a few other choice words I am not going to list.

"He asked you a question!" Barked the Nidorino on the right, jabbing his horn at my throat.

I stared at the ground.

"He ASKED," the Nidorino thundered, grabbing the scruff of my neck and slamming me down against the pavement, "YOU. A. QUESTION."

I clutched my spinning head, blood dripping onto my paws. This it. Thisisithisisitthisit.

I pulled myself off the ground and brought my eyes up to meet theirs. My voice didn't sound like itself, it wasn't cocky or brave, but I forced the words out of my lips.

"No."
